Is Digital Medicine right for me?




As part of Digital Medicine, we work with you to customize your experience so
it’s the most effective for you. Digital Medicine is one program that helps you
manage multiple chronic conditions as applicable to you.



To join Digital Medicine, you need to be at least 18 years old and own a
smartphone. There are some clinical conditions that would make you not a good
fit for the program. Sign up to see if you are eligible.

Do I need a smart device to participate in Digital Medicine?




You will need a smartphone or tablet to participate in Digital Medicine. If you
receive high blood pressure management, you will receive a blood pressure cuff;
if you receive Type 2 diabetes management you will receive a glucometer. These
devices will connect to the Digital Medicine app and allow you to transmit your
readings directly to your care team.

What will it cost?




Ochsner Digital Medicine is a covered service under many employer benefits and
health insurance plans.

Does Digital Medicine send my medicine?




No, Digital Medicine does not dispense medication. Digital Medicine will
facilitate the prescription and route it to the patient’s pharmacy of choice for
fulfillment. The coverage and co-pay for any prescriptions depends on the
coverage provided by your employer or insurer.

Does this replace my regular primary care provider?




Ochsner Digital Medicine supports you in between doctor visits to help you
manage your condition as effectively as possible, it does not replace your
primary care provider. The Digital Medicine clinical team monitors your readings
to ensure you're on the best medications. You’ll also have access to a team of
health coaches, registered dietitians, and digital tools to help you build
sustainable behavioral changes and lifestyle skills.



You will still need to visit your provider for routine visits and all other
care.

Do I have to visit my Digital Medicine care team in person?




You can participate in Digital Medicine from the comfort of your home—no office
visits are required.



You will need to submit regular readings and talk with your Digital Medicine
care team to participate in the program.

Is someone monitoring me 24/7?




While we are not a 24/7 monitoring service, you will receive real-time reading
alerts in our app. Your Digital Medicine care team will regularly review your
readings and contact you if you have a high reading or are starting to trend off
course to help get you back on track!
