MATERIALS EVALUATION, DECEMBER 2022
This issue of Materials Evaluation examines the concept of probability of
detection (POD) and the role it plays in the field of nondestructive testing.
POD is used in various industry sectors to establish the capability of an
inspection to detect discontinuities. It is a widely accepted practice for
quantifying the reliability of an NDT technique. Also included are a wrap-up of
