Step 1: Consultation

Find out how we can help you preserve your cherished family heirloom, breathe
new life into a grand or upright piano that has fallen into disrepair, or select
your perfect piano match from our vast inventory. Our piano experts are
available for telephone, email, and online consultations about your project. We
will guide you through all of the decisions necessary to custom tailor the piano
to your preferences.

After you have decided on the details of the restoration, your piano expert will
provide a free comprehensive written estimate for the project. This will
prescribe details of the customized restoration, outline an expected timeline
for completion, and provide a final cost for the restoration of the piano
(pending inspection of any piano not selected from our inventory).

Step 2: Pickup

Lindeblad understands the added responsibility we take on when you trust us with
the restoration of your family heirloom. Your piano expert will coordinate the
pickup of your piano by a member of our worldwide network of trained piano
movers. Our movers are fully insured, highly experienced, and equipped with the
specialized tools necessary to transport your piano to our restoration studio
with the care it deserves.

Once at our restoration studio, your grand or upright piano will be carefully
inspected and photographed by our restoration team. They will confirm that the
prescribed restoration is accurate and provide you with a final proposal. Simply
pay one-half of the project cost, and our craftsmen will begin their meticulous
work.

Step 3: Restoration

New components are sourced from the best manufacturers in the world. Like
Steinway, we use only Gold Series piano wire made by Mapes International from
the finest Swedish steel and Diamond brand tuning pins made by Julius Klinke,
the oldest piano component manufacturer in Germany. Also like Steinway, we use
either a Renner or Steinway action depending on the piano and your personal
preferences. For new pin blocks we use either Bolduc or Steinway, depending on
whether you would prefer to duplicate the original pin block or utilize
Steinway's modern design.

For custom made components like the soundboard, our senior soundboard craftsman,
Galo Torres, utilizes techniques developed over 30 years crafting and installing
soundboards at Steinway & Sons New York. We select the finest close-grain
Alaskan Sitka Spruce from the same specialty wood supplier used by Steinway and
hand taper each board from the crown to the rim, creating the perfect
diaphragmatic design for each unique piano.

Finally, if we are restoring your piano's finish we will remove all previous
finish and stain to expose the natural wood beneath. We can then custom stain
the wood to match your preferences and apply a satin, or high-gloss finish.

Step 4: Delivery

As much care and attention to detail that went into the restoration goes into
the final delivery of a piano as well. Whether across town in a truck, or
overseas in the belly of a jet, our trained piano movers utilize the most
advanced materials and techniques available to ensure the safe delivery of your
grand or upright piano...anywhere in the world.

Watch this piano's extraordinary journey to Singapore.

Step 5: Tuning

The restoration is not complete until your piano is set up and ready to be
played. No matter how short and smooth the journey, we know that subtle
adjustments are going to be necessary once the piano reaches its final
destination. That is why we send a local registered piano technician to
fine-tune and complete a detailed inspection of every piano we deliver.

Step 6: Follow-Up

By this point, we expect you will have a close personal relationship with your
Lindeblad piano expert. We ask that you spend a few days with your newly
restored piano. If you have any questions or concerns about the restoration, we
will be eager to address them. We are not satisfied until you are satisfied..

Beyond that, your restored piano has a 5 year warranty on the soundboard and a
20 year warranty on all other parts and labor. We encourage you to call us if we
can be of any assistance throughout the life of your piano.
