The City of Dallas is committed to the safety and well-being of our residents.
The DallasAlert program is an emergency notification system developed to enhance
the ability of the City of Dallas to provide public safety related notifications
to residents and businesses during emergencies.

Most alerts are geo-targeted based on address. You can add multiple addresses to
your profile. For example, one address may be your home and another address may
be your place of work.
DallasAlert is an opt-in only system. In order to receive alerts from
DallasAlert, you must register. To sign up, please click the "Register" link
below, or text DALLAS to 67283 for SMS only notifications.

Types of Notifications
* Emergency Notifications
* Emergency Notifications contain information and/or protective action
instructions for when a hazard is occurring or is imminent and poses a
threat to life safety or property (e.g., shelter-in-place alert,
evacuation alert).
* Advisory Notifications
* Advisory Notifications contain information about a public safety related
hazard or event that could cause potential safety or security impacts or
disruptions (e.g., major/extended road closure, public health notice, boil
water notice).
* Severe Weather Notifications
* Severe Weather Notifications are sent when the National Weather Service
(NWS) issues a Flood, Severe Thunderstorm, and/or Tornado Warning for your
monitored area. Your monitored area is based on the address(es) associated
with your account.
* Non-Severe Weather Notifications
* Non-Severe Weather Notifications are sent when the National Weather
Service (NWS) issues a Flood, Severe Thunderstorm, and/or Tornado
Watch for your monitored area. Your monitored area is based on the
address(es) associated with your account.

* DallasAlert may be used before, during, and after emergencies to provide
emergency information to residents and businesses. You can also adjust
your settings via your online profile to receive advisory notifications
and automatic weather notifications.

* You must sign up to receive emergency notifications from DallasAlert.
* What if my cell phone area code is not local to the City of Dallas?
* You will receive notifications if your phone number is registered for
