The DSD and DIRCO working together to repatriate the 5-year-old child whose
mother is arrested in Mauritius for drug trafficking. Today, the child will fare
her ECD teachers well and collect some of her belongings. She only speaks
French, understands little English and responds to some isiXhosa instruction
from her mother. She will stay with her granny in the NW.

Demonstrating Commitment to End Gender-Based Violence Deputy President Paul
Mashatile, along with other men, signed a pledge to end gender-based violence
(GBV) at the Berlin November Horse Racing where the DSD family including Sassa
and NDA brought services to the people. The DSD is taking the president's call
in a hybrid approach to get men as partners in the fight against GBVF. Including
physical signing of the pledge, the DSD aims to reach every man across the
country. The DSD aims to meet people at their point of need and in their
communities. The deputy president's leadership highlights the importance of
unity, accountability, and collective action in creating a safer and more
equitable society. 💜 Join him in the fight—sign the pledge today and take a
stand against GBV. Together, we can make a difference. #EndGBVNow

Social Development recognises that many events have become massive platforms for
the promotion of alcohol, normalising its consumption. But we’re here to change
the narrative. At Berlin November, we’re using this space to promote the
reduction of substance abuse and create awareness about its impact on
individuals, families, and communities. Through initiatives like the Non-Alcohol
Zone, we’re showing that fun, celebration, and connection don’t need to revolve
around alcohol. 💜 Let’s stand together for healthier, safer communities.

#LIVEhighlights #TikTokLIVE #LIVE 📍 We are in Bethulie Municipality, Free
State! Today marks a significant step in promoting Restorative Justice and
launching the Anti-Substance Abuse Festive Campaign. Did you know? Restorative
justice focuses on healing and accountability by bringing together victims,
offenders, and communities to address the harm caused by crime. It is a
transformative approach that prioritises reconciliation over punishment. At the
same time, our Anti-Substance Abuse Campaign aims to raise awareness about the
dangers of alcohol and drug misuse. We strive to build healthier, substance-free
communities during the festive season. #RestorativeJusticeWeek,
