Your physical appearance is closely linked to your self-esteem. Looking your
best can help to boost that feeling of confidence. When your physical appearance
affects the way you feel about yourself, or there are medical reasons for
treatment, dermatologic and cosmetic surgery is available to help deal with
medically necessary and cosmetic conditions of the skin, hair, nails, veins, and
body tissues by cosmetic and non-surgical methods.

With all the new equipment and drugs that are flooding the plastic,
dermatologic, and cosmetic surgery markets, you may wonder which treatments are
safe and effective. You can be assured that the Cooper Center for Dermatologic
Surgery only uses procedures and products that have been extensively tested and
are scientifically proven to work through clinical trials and studies.

To make your patient registration easy and seamless, print and fill out these
forms in advance and bring them with you to your first patient appointment. We
look forward to seeing you.

TREATMENT OF SKIN CANCERS

The Cooper Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery team are experts in treating skin
cancer using a range of common treatments including scraping and burning,
freezing, radiation, and routine excision.

In addition, our team is skilled in Mohs surgery. Mohs surgery is done under
local anesthetic. After the anesthesia has set in, the visible tumor (tissue) is
removed and processed in our on-site laboratory while you wait. Our dermatologic
surgeon will look at all the edges and the bottom of the excised tissue to see
if cancer cells are still present. If so, another “level” of tissue is removed
in just the area in which the cells are present. This procedure is repeated
until all skin cancer cells have been removed. Once the area has been cleared of
skin cancer, the resulting wound is closed (sutured). Mohs surgeons have
extensive knowledge of skin and its healing properties, as well as training in
reconstructive surgery. Following are the forms of skin cancer we treat:

 * Basal cell carcinoma: the most common and slowest growing form of skin cancer
 * Squamous cell carcinoma: a more invasive, faster growing cancer that has the
   potential to break off and go to other parts of the body
 * Non-melanoma skin cancer: a malignant tumor that grows in the skin cells
 * Melanoma: a skin cancer that can be life threatening unless caught and
   treated early

SKIN CARE PRODUCTS AND TREATMENT OPTIONS

Our team prides itself on offering patients a range of solutions and treatments
for dermatologic issues and staying informed of new products as they are tested
and come to market. Following is the range of cosmetic products and non-surgical
treatments we offer:

 * Botox/Dysport
 * Chemical peels
 * Fat transfer
 * Fillers
 * Hydroxy acids (AHA) including Retin A and Glytone
 * Kybella for treatment of double chin
 * Platelet rich plasma (PRP) treatment for thinning hair
 * Revale Skin

Cooper dermatologic surgeons can provide their patients options for skin
treatments beyond fillers and topical care. Below are tools and techniques
available to our patients:

 * Intense pulsed light therapy, also known as photorejuvenation or photofacial,
   to treat superficial redness, dark spots and sun damage
 * Dermabrasion, which uses a rapidly rotating brush or diamond wheel (burr) to
   remove irregularities in the top layers of skin to create a smoother and more
   youthful appearance
 * Fractionated laser therapy, which regenerates skin cells and collagen  to
   smoothe fine lines and wrinkles, remove of dark spots, and improve skin tone
   and texture
 * Liposuction, a surgical procedure designed to reshape specific areas of the
   face, such as under the chin, by removing excess fat deposits
 * Smoothbeam laser treatment, which stimulates new collagen formation to help
   with acne scarring, active acne, and sebaceous hyperplasia, as well as to
   rejuvenate the skin
 * Subcision, which treats deep  facial scars, such as those from severe acne,
   by releasing and breaking up the fibrous bands securing them to the skin
 * VBEAM ®, a  laser treatment for skin conditions that cause redness from
   broken or inflamed blood vessels

CELLULITE TREATMENT

The Cooper Dermatologic and Cosmetic Surgery team now offer a non-surgical
treatment called QWO (pronounced “kwoe”), the first and only FDA-approved
injection used to treat moderate-to-severe cellulite in adult women.

QWO is believed to work by releasing fibrous bands, redistributing fat cells,
and stimulating the growth of new collagen.

Treatment with QWO involves injections into the fat of the treatment area (each
of the buttocks) and may include up to 12 injections in each area. Patients
receiving QWO receive injections every 21 days for a total of 3 treatment
visits.

Please note that cellulite treatment is not covered by insurance.
