The "MSM" as it's called used to be the TV media, but it shifted to Facebook, Twitter, etc. RFK jr. the blood relative of Robert Kennedy who had a connection to free speech, and alternative technology / information. "Once You Start Censoring, You're On Your Way To Dystopia And Totalitarianism" .. > Comparing the efforts to the McCarthyism of the 1950s, Kennedy said he is > being censored “through smears, through misinterpretations of what I’ve said, > through lies, through association,” adding that “While I’m under oath, in my > entire life I have never uttered a phrase that was either racist or > anti-Semitic.” RFK Jr. makes great points but offers no takeaway, no call to action. Well, what about Gab? Gab has called itself "The Home of Free Speech" and has fought long and hard for a totally free platform. Gab is raising capital via Reg CF or "Crowdfunding" - via Venture Capital Cross at a $250m valuation. This is a growing trend, as Substack recently launched a Crowdfunding campaign: > Substack is initiating a crowdsourcing funding round, allowing writers to > invest as little as $100 in the company. On Tuesday morning, the startup > emailed writers about the investment opportunity. The development comes amidst > a freeze in venture capital funding markets, which followed the collapse of > Silicon Valley Bank. “Today, we’re starting a process that will let writers > and readers invest in Substack and own a piece of the company. We are serious > about building Substack with writers and readers and this community round is > one way to concretize that ideal,” the email said. But Substack isn't really social media, it's more article - focused. If we are looking at alternatives to Facebook and Twitter, Gab is the market leader. Gab not only has social media functionality, it also acts like a marketplace, they have Gab TV, Gab Voice, and a number of other interesting services. So why isn't Gab leading headlines right now? There's a clear and obvious answer. The owners of the media do not like the idea of 'free speech' and so Gab has been targeted. Censorship pays well, and is an important tactic of the Establishment's policy of 'maintain the status quo' [1]- media ownership is in few hands; mega media company Tegna owns or operates 66 television stations in 54 markets, and holds properties in digital media. [2] The same is true whether you look at Newspapers, Magazines, Book Publishing, or Social Media. Tegna is a short 10-15 minute commute from the CIA, which is convenient as the CIA has been well known since it's establishment to edit, create, promote opinion pieces which act as news, as well as 'talking points' parroted across the spectrum by all. If you ask them why they do it, "That's Classified" but we can rest assured that it's necessary for national security reasons. Allen Dulles was a businessman first, lawyer second, and spymaster third; he was actually a 'king maker' by dealing with dictators in foreign countries. Having the media in his pocket was necessary for their operations, and so he laid the foundations for that relationship that still exists to this very day: [3] > The CIA has a long history of “spooking the news,” dating back to its earliest > days when the legendary spymaster Allen Dulles and his top staff drank and > dined regularly with the press elite of New York and Washington, and the > agency boasted hundreds of U.S. and foreign journalists as paid and unpaid > assets. But, in truth, the intelligence empire’s efforts to > manufacture the truth and mold public opinion are more vast and varied than > ever before. One of its foremost assets? Hollywood. This was the direst of warnings, > but the address has tended in the popular press to be ignored. After > sixty-plus years, most of America – including most of the American left, which > traditionally focused the most on this issue – has lost its fear that our arms > industry might conquer democracy from within. Now, however, we’ve > unfortunately found cause to reconsider Eisenhower’s warning. There is a long history of active media manipulation in all western countries, in a practice that seems to be tied with Central Banking. Originally, the major news services were actually banks, such as Reuters. Censorship is the how, not the why. Why they do it is simple- maintain power, promote war (which is profitable by itself and helps to cull the herd), as well as control the narrative. Things like cures for cancer, touching stories about empathy, or information that can lead to knowledge or enlightenment, should be obliterated from the discussion. Whatever is the talking point, it should focus on the lowest common denominator: Reptilian Brain (Shelter, Sex, Violence, Food): > MacLean proposed that the reptilian complex was responsible for > species-typical instinctual behaviours involved in aggression, dominance, > territoriality, and ritual displays.[6] If you think Censorship is just getting shadow banned, think again. Facebook, Google, and many Big Tech companies have seed funders from the Military and/or the intelligence apparatus. One anonymous source even claimed that the CIA had designed Facebook in the 90's, and joked to colleagues that in the future we won't need spies, because people will voluntarily send us intelligence even including photos of what they ate for breakfast. Free Speech is not only about "Free Speech" it's also about freedom to not be spied on. Traditional social media companies are surveillance tools by default. Gab is raising capital from their userbase via Crowdfunding, not from the CIA or some strange NGO in London. But you aren't going to see that advertised on TV or highway billboards, they are doing it right - quiet, organic, and from the ground up. They are raising at a 250m valuation which means there's room to grow. Huge disclaimer, investing in Startups or any private offerings means you're funds are locked up for years at best. That's the nature of private markets. But if you are of the Warren Buffet buy and hold mindset, this is a great market to stick your savings in which at least has the chance of beating inflation, whereas your typical Class A shares do not have that hope. Gab.com Sites like Gab are rare, Zero Hedge is another alternative free speech platform but with a focus on markets and deep journalism (which is done mostly in house). Also, Zero Hedge selects only the best of the best contributors some of whom make excellent points. Although the Zero Hedge comments can often be better than the articles, the functionality is limited (no social media) and they are not open to investors. Maybe one day, Tyler - we do love the platform and it would be fantastic to see ZH become user owned!
