ABOUT US

Enfield Council is a highly ambitious authority, leading on the development of
10,000 homes in Meridian Water and regeneration of its social housing and
industrial estates. It is also a great place to work with a very friendly
culture – collaborative and supportive, engendering innovation and change, with
strong travel links into Central London.

As government support has fallen away, local government has needed to adapt.
Staff need new skills to adapt to the fast-paced environment in which we now
operate. Enfield Council has recognised that the traditional local government
positions do not reflect these needs.

Finance & Commercial has reviewed its structure to strengthen career pathways
and add to the team. We are cutting out transactional activities to focus on
value-added work. We are developing an exciting training programme to harness
the abilities of staff so they can maximise their opportunities, both for
themselves and local residents.

Finance & Commercial is searching for ambitious accountants who want to enjoy a
varied and interesting workload, as it looks to transform to support Enfield’s
ambitions. We are looking for people who relish challenging the status quo,
enjoy building financial models and having thought-provoking and challenging
conversations.

There are highly rewarding senior positions to lead on regeneration and the
statutory accounts, as well as a new tier of accountant roles across the
function to support service-decision making and financial reporting.

This follows the splitting of the Directorate in two and the hiring of 2 new
directors, James Newman, Director of Finance and Olga Bennet, Director Capital &
Commercial. During an exciting period of change and transformation we have a
number of key opportunities to join our newly created team.
