Easy Weekend on Kornati Islands National Park and Nazi Shipwreck Diving

This past October we joined our friends for a weekend on the island of Levrnaka
in Kornati National Park. This is one of the most beautiful and most interesting
islands with fantastic natural harbor. We docked at Konoba Levrnaka restaurant
for overnight and had a great meal there.
Very few places beat Kornati for a great holiday on the Adriatic!

Nazi shipwreck is the i-boot - Infanterientransporter - a troop carrier for
Gemran infantry in WW2.

Shadows of the Mimbelli Family - Forgotten mansion of the old captain's family
in Orebić
11/30/2021
I had a pleasure of visiting the old captain's home in Orebić. This was a
mansion of the richest of all local captains' families of Pelješac - the well
known Mimbellis. While most of the valuable antiques are now gone, the house
still showcases the era of the great captains of the Adriatic in the 19th
century.
The property is now for sale and it is a unique opportunity of owning an
important part of local history as most of the other houses have been donated to
the national cultural institutions.

Secret Chambers of Salona
11/13/2021
I recently found out about a structure next to the Five bridges section in
Salona. While Five bridges is basically a bridge with 5 arches, this other
construction seems to be an extension of it.
The entrance was quite uninviting and uncomfortable but I managed to get inside
and enjoy this, rarely seen unique space. The archaeologists are certainly aware
of it but a proper scientific paper is needed.
I don't have sufficient knowledge about Roman architecture to come up with any
conclusions so my best guess would be that this was another bridge but also a
cistern of some sort due to nicely plastered interior.

UPDATE: I received a call from an archaeologist saying that this is a water
distribution system.
