HOW DO ESG LED INVESTMENTS MINIMIZE THE RISK OF STRANDED ASSETS?

Climate-related risks, transitional and physical, are the most significant risk
type leading to stranded assets. Failing to set and achieve science-based
targets and credible decarbonisation plans can leave assets at risk of failing
behind gov policies and suffering potential loss in value or increase in costs
(operation or retrofit). So how do we reimagine ESG strategy so it’s no longer
about ESG, just strategy?

forceful part of the solution, but incremental steps are proving too slow. How
can we create a shift  that accelerates progress and meets the challenge?

change how we both produce and consume energy. The world is experiencing a
paradigm shift as electric and digital technologies converge at scale – at
Schneider, we call this Electricity 4.0. Join us for an overview of what this
means for buildings, as we cover electrification, data usage, connectivity,
prosumer trends, and more.

UKREIIF SECTOR INSIGHTS: WHY IS RETAIL A DIRTY WORD?

Whilst there are numerous types of offices and warehouses, the words are
accurate descriptions of what these buildings do and the purpose they serve.
However, the term retail is narrow and does not reflect the role retail property

healthy; it has an impact on all aspects of our lives. Does pigeonholing retail
property therefore have to end? We’ll discuss if a rebrand of the word is

Here you’ll find important travel and hospitality information which might help
you plan you attendance at UKREiiF in May 2024.

When and where is UKREiiF 2024?

UKREiiF will take place across three days in Leeds City Centre at the Royal
Armouries and New Dock on the following days:

Tuesday 21st May 2024

Wednesday 22nd May 2024

Thursday 23rd May 2024

Venue Address:

Royal Armouries and Leeds Dock, The Boulevard, Leeds, LS10 1PZ

The venue is easy to access by car, train or plane.

Travelling to the venue

By train – The venue is located in close proximity to Leeds Train Station (0.8
miles) with an easy walking route through the city or options for bus, taxi or
water taxi nearby. Direct services run to Leeds from all major cities and for
more information you can click here for the National Rail website.

By car – There are numerous car parks across Leeds City Centre, however the
closest is CitiPark at New Dock which is the most environmentally friendly
multi-storey in the UK with over 1,600 spaces. You can pre-book your parking via
the website.

Address: CitiPark, Armouries Drive, LS10 1LE

By plane – The closest airport is Leeds Bradford Yorkshire’s Airport with
frequent bus transport and taxi’s available from the airport to the city centre.
Other airports in close proximity include Manchester Airport with a direct route
from the Airport to Leeds train station.

By bike – There will be opportunities to join the likes of Club Peloton on a
ride to UKREiiF in addition to alternative options including travelling
yourself. There is several bike sheds at the event to secure your bike.

By water taxi – Next to the train station there is a water taxi that will run
frequently between there and the event venue, and back. Details of frequency and
time will be shared here ahead of the event.

By park and ride – there are three park and ride sites in Leeds, with Elland
Road for trips from the south and west of Leeds, Temple Green if you’re coming
from the north or east, and Stourton if travelling into the south or south west
of the city. These provide an ideal alternative to finding city centre parking
with buses running every 10-15 minutes

HOTELS AND ACCOMMODATION

There are many hotels and places to stay across the city of Leeds with almost
8,000 beds in the city centre.

Locations like Colton, Garforth, Rothwell and Hunslet are on the edge of the
city – whilst cities like Wakefield are just a 15-minute train or drive away.
Bradford, Harrogate, York and Huddersfield are also great options with good
transport links.

PRIVATE VENUES AND PRIVATE SPACES

We actively encourage official fringe event activity and for those looking to
run events please speak to us to ensure you’re not running unofficial events –
official events well entice a high quality audience and also ensure delegates
attend your events whereas unofficial events tend to have a low attendance
turnout.

PRESS AND MEDIA AT UKREIIF

At UKREiiF 2023 we had 40+ press publications in attendance from the main
industry trade titles to national press.

These will be back in abundance for 2024 and we also have broadcasters set to be
at the event, and we have a designated press area. We would ask that if you’re
interested in launching and sharing news at UKREiiF or connecting with our
press/media contacts then please get in touch via
david.gilbank@built-environment-networking.com.

Those who attended in 2023 included:

The venue at UKREiiF is large – with over 10,000 delegates expected for our 2024
event it’s good to try and understand the event layout ahead of attending, in
addition to the wider city. Below is a bit of an overview into what to expect
and where to find the key areas at the event…

THE SITE

The event isn’t at a specific conference centre and therefore the event has a
number of entry points, all of which are fenced and gated with security to check
details to enter. Those entry points (subject to change) are below and more
details will be shared before the event takes place. Further to this below we
highlight some of the key areas across the site to help you understand where
core areas such as our stages, pavilions and exhibition halls can be found.

GROWTH AREAS

We are seeing exponential growth of UKREiiF and therefore we’re growing the site
further to accommodation this – highlighted below with all areas in green. This
includes a large increase on Pavilions in comparison to 2023 and the
incorporation of The Boulevard which has spaces such as restaurants, cafes and
bars now being incorporated into the restricted zones.

We will share further information in due course on the site once more specific
details are confirmed.

One element that was thriving last year was the fringe activity which takes
place both within the walls of UKREiiF and also across the wider city.

Full details of these can be found on the ‘Programme’ tab. These are the
