THE FUTURE INSIDE AND OUT: CORNELL BIENNIAL BLANKETS CAMPUS THIS FALL

Spilling out beyond gallery walls and across campus, the 2022 Cornell Biennial
"Futurities, Uncertain" is well underway and features work by AAP faculty,
students, alumni, and guests.

Environment and Sustainability

AAP'S ECOLOGICAL ACTION LAB HIGHLIGHTS PLASTIC AND WATER WASTE WITH TALLINN
ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE SCULPTURE

Currently on display, the Friendship WC (Water Chandelier) is an architectural
exhibit largely built out of Friendship Bottles — plastic water containers that
have been designed to be reused as construction material — arranged as candles
in a chandelier. The project seeks to shine light on the dual dilemma of global
water scarcity and the relentless growth of plastic pollution.

Design and Emerging Technologies

FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND 3D-PRINTED HOME BLENDS CONCRETE, WOOD

The Cornell Chronicle reports that the two-story, single-family home, designed
by Architecture faculty Leslie Lok and Sasa Zivkovic, demonstrates innovative
construction processes that may help address housing shortages.

Environment and Sustainability

THERE ARE 'NO EASY FIXES' IN FLORIDA. BUT COULD HURRICANE IAN'S HAVOC BRING A
