Environment and Sustainability AAP'S ECOLOGICAL ACTION LAB HIGHLIGHTS PLASTIC AND WATER WASTE WITH TALLINN ARCHITECTURE BIENNALE SCULPTURE Currently on display, the Friendship WC (Water Chandelier) is an architectural exhibit largely built out of Friendship Bottles — plastic water containers that have been designed to be reused as construction material — arranged as candles in a chandelier. The project seeks to shine light on the dual dilemma of global water scarcity and the relentless growth of plastic pollution. Design and Emerging Technologies FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND 3D-PRINTED HOME BLENDS CONCRETE, WOOD The Cornell Chronicle reports that the two-story, single-family home, designed by Architecture faculty Leslie Lok and Sasa Zivkovic, demonstrates innovative construction processes that may help address housing shortages.
