PURCHASE PLAY TIME


To use a server, you need to buy play time with credits. The rate is $1 for
1,000 credits. While the server is running, credits will be deducted every
minute until there are no more credits left. The rate at which credits are
deducted increases with the amount of CPU and RAM the server is using.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How do I start my Minecraft server?
Simply join it as you would any other Minecraft server! If your server is
stopped when you attempt to join it you will be disconnected with a message that
looks like this:If you see this it means your server is starting. The elapsed
time at the bottom of the message shows how long your server has been starting
for. Wait 30 seconds or so and try to join your server again until its finished
starting!

If your server is already started when you try to join, you will automatically
connect to it.

Admins can also start their server from the Admin panel using the Server actions
→ Start server button
How long does it take for a server to start?
It depends on the selected package and the type of server that you're running.
Lower resource packages like Iron and Gold will take around 3 minutes to start
while higher resource packages like Redstone or Emerald can start in as little
as 90 seconds.

Fabric, Paper, or Forge servers with a large number of mods will take more time
to start than the standard Vanilla Minecraft server.

When a server is starting for the first time it will take longer than usual
because the world spawn needs to be generated.
Where are your servers located?
Currently Campfire Hosting servers are based out of Oregon, USA. We plan to add
additional locations in Virginia USA, Finland, and Germany soon!
When does my server stop? Is it automatic?
Campfire Hosting servers automatically stop after 5 minutes of inactivity. This
means that 5 minutes after the last player has disconnected your server will
automatically save, shut down, and you will no longer be charged for credits.

Servers may also be manually stopped by using the admin panel. This allows you
to stop your server at any time without having to wait for 5 minutes to elapse.
What happens if a player is AFK? Will the server stop?
Campfire Hosting servers are designed to stop when there are no players online.
This means a player could be inactive on your server using your credits. One
work around for this is to set the player-idle-timeout property on the
Properties page of your server.

Setting player-idle-timeout to a number other than 0 will kick inactive players
after the specified minutes. For example, if you setplayer-idle-timeout to 10,
inactive players would be kicked from the server after 10 minutes.
How do the server storage fees work?
Campfire Hosting charges a flat rate for data storage, roughly $0.18 per
gigabyte per month. The storage fee is deducted daily from your credits. For
example, a Minecraft server utilizing 600MB of disk space would cost just $0.003
per day in credits.
Am I charged for the time it takes for my server to start and stop?
Nope! Credits begin subtracting when your server has successfully started and
stop subtracting when its shutting down.
Does Campfire Hosting have support for mods or plugins? How do I install them?
Campfire Hosting has support for Forge, Fabric, and Paper servers. To install
mods or plugins on your server:


 1. Select either Forge, Fabric, or Paper as a server type
 2. Join your server for the first time to generate the necessary files and
    directories
 3. Visit the File Manager page to learn how to connect to your server's
    directory
 4. Connect to your server's directory via FTP. For Forge and Fabric servers,
    upload your mods to the mods directory. For Paper servers upload your
    plugins to the plugins directory.

Will my server be deleted if its inactive for too long?
Your server won't be deleted for inactivity as long as your account has credits.
Even when stopped, it consumes credits based on the amount of storage that it's
using. You can check your server's size on the Monitoring tab. After three weeks
with no credits, servers are deleted, with email warnings sent beforehand.
Can I change the server package that I'm using?
You can change your server package at any time, either increasing or decreasing
the allotted resources. To do so, simply visit the admin panel for your server
and update the package. The new package will take effect the next time your
server is started.
