WHAT IS IPV6?

IPv6 or IP version 6 is the next generation Internet protocol which will
eventually replace the current protocol IPv4. IPv6 has a number of improvements
and simplifications when compared to IPv4. The primary difference is that IPv6
uses 128-bit addresses as compared to the 32-bit addresses used with IPv4. Among
other things, this improvement is expected to make assigning address to wireless
devices easier and accommodate the myriad smart network enabled devices that
will surround us in the future.

IPv6 and IPv4 will coexist on the Internet for quite a while. Currently some of
the IPv6 Internet exists as tunnels over the existing IPv4 Internet.

There are a variety of migration strategies which Hurricane Electric can help
you select and implement.

HURRICANE ELECTRIC'S SUPPORT FOR IPV6

Hurricane Electric is currently running a production IPv6 network and offering
business class commercial IPv6 services. Native IPv6 connectivity is available
for both direct connection customers and colocation customers. Hurricane
Electric also provides a free tunnel broker which allows users to experiment
with IPv6 by tunneling over the existing IPv4 Internet. Hurricane Electric's
tunnel broker is available for use by anybody.

The Hurricane Electric IPv6 network was migrated in our core, and Hurricane
Electric now offers IPv4 and IPv6 at all locations, over our international
backbone consisting of multiple 10 gigabit circuits.

Hurricane Electric is aggressively pursuing peering with all existing IPv6
networks. Our routing table has more prefixes (routes) and more paths to each
prefix (ways to get to a destination address block) than most other IPv6
providers.

IPV6 COMMERCIAL SERVICE FROM HURRICANE ELECTRIC

Business class commercial native IPv6 service is available today from Hurricane
Electric. BGP is available for any connection

IPV6 COLOCATION

We offer colocation with immediate availability. We can have you setup in one of
our facilities the same day you order service. We offer plans that range from
space for a single 1U server to the ability to get gigabit (1000
megabits/second) ethernet connectivity and enough cabinet space to house several
thousand servers. Whatever your colocation needs are, Hurricane Electric can
help you. For a preview check out our facility list. Within our facilities, we
can provide you connections to the Internet such as 10/100/1000 base T over
copper or 10 gigabit ethernet (10GE) over fiber.

WHOLESALE IPV6 TRANSIT

locations in the US and Europe. A partial list of facilities includes: Hurricane
Fremont, Hurricane San Jose, Equinix San Jose, Equinix Los Angeles, Equinix
