The National History Center of the American Historical Association provides
historical perspectives on current issues and promotes historical thinking in
the service of civic engagement. The AHA established the center in 2002 as a
separate nonprofit organization that focuses on the relationship between history
and public policy.
The Pacific Coast Branch (PCB) of the American Historical Association was
organized in 1903 to serve members of the American Historical Association living
in the Western States of the United States and the Western Provinces of Canada.
All members of the AHA living in those areas, therefore, are also members of the
Branch.
