SKYRIM BECOME A GUARD

Another guard attacked me in Dragonsreach and the other non-hostile guards there
actually killed him for me. As soon as I got close enough to these guards they
attacked me on sight and I was able to kill them without consequence. Finished
my skill raising and out of curiousity decided to walk around other parts of the
city to see if anyone flagged as hostile - turns out, there were certain guards
who showed up red while most of the guard did not.

I was hanging around in the market square trying to level up my alteration skill
with detect life and couldn't wait because "enemies were nearby" Okay. There was
no reason for this guard to attack me and I had no bounty and it seemed weird
that only one attacked me.

The others sort of just stood around and watched and didn't do anything as I
killed him in self-defense.

So, I had something weird happen in my game where upon entering Whiterun I was
attacked by a guard.
