NYU NETID: CHANGING YOUR NETID/NYUHOME PASSWORD

To protect the cybersecurity of your account and NYU's data, and to comply with
NYU Policy, each member of the NYU community must change their NetID password at
least once a year. However, you can change your NYU password any time before it
expires, especially if you think it may have been compromised. To do so, follow
the instructions below.
(Note: If you forgot your password or it has already expired, see the
instructions at Resetting a forgotten or expired NYU password instead.)
CHANGE YOUR NETID/NYUHOME PASSWORD
1. Go to the NYU Start Page: start.nyu.edu.
2. Click the Log In card and login.
3. Click the Change NetID Password card.
4. Enter a new password and click Set Password. (You can also use the secure
password generator to set your password. If you need to see what you have
typed click the eye icon.)
CONFIRM YOUR SELF-SERVICE PASSWORD RECOVERY
While you're on the NYU Start Page, take a moment to make sure your password
recovery email address (in the "Security Settings" section) and your Security
Questions are up to date so that you can reset your password yourself if you
ever forget it.
