Mac Mac Guttering manufactures and installs gutters on-site, at your home,
business premises, townhouse or cluster complex.

With over 200 years of combined experience. Our teams are divided into
specialist areas within the work environment, such as gutter, downpipe and
corner installers. This ensures that each section of your job is completed to
perfection.

We specialise in the installation of seamless, half-round, square, and
galvanized gutters.

We are the only supplier for Gauteng’s precious Heritage sites, and are
available to work on all types of developments, from brand new to centuries old.

We manufacture and install on site at private homes, low-cost housing
developments, complexes, and commercial or industrial premises.

We work closely with home owners, architects and site managers in order to
ensure that the best possible service is delivered with maximum efficacy. The
goal of an excellent gutter system is the drainage of water, protecting your
foundations, walls, woodwork underneath the roof and the ceilings in the rooms
in a building. In many cases, there are legal requirements governing the
drainage of water away from a building.

The type of gutter and downpipe depends on the volume of water that runs off a
roof, and this becomes vital in determining efficient water drainage.

It is always advisable to clean and maintain your gutters and downpipes so that
they perform optimally. If anything becomes blocked there is a risk that water
can backflow and damage your roof and pour into your ceilings, possibly flooding
rooms in your house.

We all know that water is a vital resource, which is becoming both scarce and
expensive. It is worth considering capturing the water that comes off your roof
when it rains, as this can be used in your garden during winter, or when
municipal water has been switched off for maintenance.

of the façade of a Heritage building may be changed.

Mac Mac Guttering is proud to have been entrusted by the Johannesburg Heritage
Foundation with the responsibility of upgrading the gutters and downpipes to the
necessary exacting standards on some of these national treasures.

Very often if your gutters are in a bad condition and have been leaking or
backflowing, there is a good chance that the underlying woodwork has been
exposed to water and is rotten. However, this can only be established once the
existing gutters have been removed and the woodwork has been revealed. Once
determined that there is damage the rotten wood can be replaced with new,
strong, supporting wood, ensuring the “health” of your gutters and your roof.

We also undertake waterproofing where it is associated to solving a problem
relating to guttering or relating to box gutters.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN ALUMINIUM AND CHOMADEK/ZINCALUME?

Chromadek and Zincalume are thicker than aluminium so they don’t pock in
hailstorms.


DO I HAVE TO PAINT MY GUTTERS AND DOWNPIPES?

The aluminium and Chromadek/Zincalume materials are powder coated in various
colours so they do not have to be painted. Only the galvanized option can be
easily painted or left unpainted for an “industrial” look.


WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE GUTTER SIZES?

The domestic size is 100mm x 90mm and the industrial size is 150mm x 125mm. At
Mac Mac Guttering we advocate for the use of the industrial size as with the
huge volume of water that falls with the storms in the Gauteng area the domestic
gutters can’t cope.


WHEN CAN YOU DO MY INSTALLATION?

Our installation diary is always affected by the weather, especially in summer.
If there is even a small fall of rain, our team cannot work, so we are put
behind schedule. We ask for our clients’ understanding when we have days on end
of rain.


IS THE UNDERLYING WOOD STILL VIABLE?

The underlying wood known as purlin, brandering and rafter wood can only be
assessed once the gutters have been removed.


IS THERE A GUARANTEE?

Yes, there is a guarantee of 20 years on the product, which is covered by the
supplier. We will guarantee our workmanship as long as regular maintenance is
carried out on the gutters, corners and downpipes.


DO YOU DO GUTTER CLEANING?

Yes. We specialise in cleaning large buildings, complexes and private homes.
This helps to prolong the life of your gutter system.


IS YOUR STAFF EXPERIENCED?

Yes, our team has combined work experience of over two hundred years and is
regularly security vetted.
