The course also addresses the safe and effective administration of epinephrine by pharmacists when medically necessary. The Florida Medical Association, which is a statewide professional association of physicians accredited education provider, offers this course for Florida Pharmacists to meet their continuing education requirements online. Pharmacists are now authorized to administer not only flu, pneumococcal, shingles and meningococcal vaccines, but all immunizations or vaccines listed in the Adult Immunization Schedule as of February 1, 2015, by the United States Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. In addition, Section 465.189 F.S. also grants pharmacists permission to administer emergency epinephrine autoinjection when medically necessary.
