We combined ease of use, very good reception and sharp, well defined audio
together in this little jewel of a radio. You can listen on the built-in speaker
or the included high quality original CC Buds Earphones tuned for superior voice
clarity and music. It has five, one touch memory car type buttons for each band
and stands upright when needed. Rubber coated sides help with grip. Lock switch
to prevent accidental on/off or station change.

CAN YOU EXPLAIN HOW THE 55 MEMORIES WORK?
The 5 memory buttons provide 5 memories per band for quick use. As an advanced
function you can access additional memory pages for AM and FM. To access memory
pages 2-5 when in AM or FM mode, press and hold the Band button for 5 seconds.
On the screen the word PAGE will blink (10 seconds until timeout). During this
time, press the page number of memories you want using the 1-5 buttons on the
front. For example if you wanted page 2 of the memories, press the band button
for 5 seconds, then press button #2. Please note: This function does not work in
WX mode.
HOW LONG WILL THE RADIO RETAIN MY CLOCK AND PRESET SETTINGS WHILE I CHANGE THE
BATTERIES?
The CC Pocket will retain its memory settings for approximately 15 minutes
without batteries.
HOW DO I ACTIVATE THE NARROW AM FILTER?
Quickly press memory buttons #1 and #3 at the same time while listening to your
desired AM station. Press again to return to normal (wide) filtering. Note: This
setting is helpful to eliminate unwanted noise or adjacent overlapping stations.
Narrow AM (2.5 KHz) may work best for voice. The normal setting (4 KHz) is best
for music.
CAN I IMPROVE FM PERFORMANCE BY USING EARBUDS OR AN EXTERNAL FM ANTENNA WIRE?
The built-in FM antenna is good but it can be improved by connecting an FM
antenna wire or headphones/earbuds.
I HAVE NOTICED THAT MY AM RECEPTION IS NOT AS GOOD AS IT USED TO BE. ALSO, HOW
COME IT IS NOT STOPPING ON ANY STATIONS WHEN SCANNING THE AM BAND?
If you are scanning the band for a strong station and it never stops it may be
set to 9KHz. Check to make sure you are set to 10KHz tuning; if you are in 9KHz
mode it can greatly affect the reception, not just the tuning. Turn the radio
off, Press and hold down memory button #5. If 10 pops up on the display then it
was set at 9KHz which would cause of the diminished reception. If 9 pops up than
it was already set on 10KHz and it would then need to be changed back to 10.
HOW DO I RESTORE THE RADIO TO FACTORY DEFAULTS?
With the power OFF, press and hold the memory buttons #1 and #5 for five
seconds. You will hear a tone to signify it has been done.
WHEN I USE EARBUDS, I CAN HEAR "NOISE" (SOUNDS LIKE A SOFT HISSING) IN THE
BACKGROUND. HOW COME?
This is normal. What you are hearing is the audio amplifier circuit for the
headphone jack.
HOW COME MY BATTERIES SLIDE AROUND LIKE THEY DO NOT FIT?
Please make sure you are using (2) AA batteries. Using AAA batteries will not
keep a stable connection to the battery contacts because they are too small.
WHAT ARE THE STEPS FOR SETTING AND ACTIVATING THE WEATHER ALERT?
1. Turn the radio on by pressing and releasing the red power button (on top of
the radio)
2. Press and release the Band button (top button on right side of the radio)
until WX shows on the display
3. Change the channel with the Up or Down tuning buttons until you hear your
local NOAA Weather Broadcast
4. Press and hold the Alert button (second button on the right side of the
radio) until the desired hours of monitoring (4hr, 8hr or 16hr) are selected
Note: While the weather alert is activated, AM and FM will be disabled until
it is de-activated.
The display light will flash once every few seconds to remind you that the
NOAA Weather Alert is "ON".
5. When NOAA issues a weather alert, the radio will continuously beep
6. Press and release the Power Button to listen to the weather broadcast
7. To de-activate the Weather Alert, press and hold the Alert button for 3
seconds
CAN I USE LITHIUM TYPE BATTERIES IN MY RADIO?
Technically NO. We do not recommend using Lithium type batteries due to the
higher voltage they produce. Even though the specifications for some lithium
batteries state 1.5 volts, they can register up to 1.8 volts when they are
fresh. Our products are designed to operate on a very light load. Using lithium
batteries that register higher (using a voltmeter) than 1.6 volts can cause
damage to our products.

VOLUME QUIT. NOW RADIO HAS NO SOUND AT ALL.
Nice radio a while it worked first volume stuck in one spot now Radio will not
come on at all. At least the signals are there on the screen but no sound. Not
sure I want to spend another $60 or $63 with the discount for another one.
Picked up a radio through RadioShack, which I am listening to right now For $24
I may try them since my experience with this one did not last. $69 is a bit
steep for Radio that only last two years.

I’m disappointed. I’ve had this radio before. This is nowhere near the quality
of the previous ones. The volume / volume control not good - securing stations

LOVE MY CCRANE RADIOS
Both are great. They work perfectly so far! I got a small pocket radio and the
standard carry-around radio.

Checks Every Box
This radio checks every box for me. Let me explain. I live in south east
Louisiana, our weather can be politely referred to as "temperamental". I also
drive an old pickup truck from the days when A/C and radios were expensive
extras. I needed the following: 1.) To be able to perch on my dash...This radio
checks every box for me. Let me explain. I live in south east Louisiana, our
weather can be politely referred to as "temperamental". I also drive an old
pickup truck from the days when A/C and radios were expensive extras. I needed
the following: 1.) To be able to perch on my dash without worrying about it
rolling around. Rubberized, UV resistant coating and slightly curved base makes
this radio hug the dash. Because of its low, short stature, it has no risk of
tipping over or rolling. It does not obscure our interfere with my driving. Next
to my bed or on my desk at work, it is deceptively small for its functionality
and sound. 2.) Coverage of AM, FM, and NOAA. Reception is excellent for all
three, even without extending the whip antennae. I haven't tried dx-ing any AM
stations yet, but I see no reason why shouldn't pick up Atlanta, Nashville, St.
Louis, or Chicago on a clear night. In the New Orleans area, other C Crane
radios routinely pick up 750 WSB in Atlanta and a station in Nashville with the
occasional visit from St. Louis or Chicago. I'm looking forward to experimenting
with that. This radio is picking up AM/FM/NOAA INSIDE my office, including in
the elevator and parking deck. My office is a 25 story building filled with
electrically interfering equipment with a 40 foot FM antennae on top. I NEVER
get reception in here, but with this radio I'm getting good reception on all
three bands. 3.) Better options for power that don't involve being constantly
plugged into my cigarette lighter. The solar panel on top collects while on my
dash. It seems smudge resistant. The dynamo on the back is ergonomically
pleasing. I have not had to depend on either yet. The rechargeable battery on
board came mostly charged, and I have been plugging the radio in at night to
charge. Now that I am fully charged, we'll see how long it can run in the truck
until the batteries run out. I expect a long, long time. What's awesome is that
one can replace the rechargeable battery, or opt for alkaline AA batteries
instead. Having this level of power independence sets this device apart. 4.)
Good sound, at least loud enough to hear while driving with the windows down.
The sound is pleasant and accurate. There does not seem to be too much in terms
of bass or treble, nor should that be expected. Whether playing music from
Bluetooth or talk radio or music radio, sound has no chassis based rattles or
distortions. Music tested ran the spectrum of hip hop to classical, jazz to
rock. The radio lends itself well to crisp, legible, voice transmission. In an
emergency, that's what matters most. Music generally sounds clear and really
good. 5.) Bluetooth for my mp3 player (Walkman nwza55). Bluetooth connected
easily. I was able to switch off of the BT, to NOAA, AM/FM, and back. The unit
reconnected seamlessly. Transmission of sound was accurate. For Walkman users,
the sound is controlled ONLY by the radio. This is great for me, as it removes
any issues with adjusting the sound between the two units to never have it sound
quite right. This was the right way forward. Re-connection is totally automatic
and pretty quick. I have not tested range yet, but have been up to 10 feet away
with no problem. 6.) Lagniappe The flashlight is bright enough, and wide enough,
to light up the inside cab of my truck, or light a room in a power outage. It's
a pretty decent light, and to have that as a little something extra that this
radio delivers was really cool. The flashlight button glowing in the dark is a
smart touch. For an old pickup with a burnt out cab light, this is already
proving to be an essential add that I never expected. I have not experimented
with the charging functionality yet, but I find that to be really alluring. This
adds "Power Bank" to the many job descriptions this radio touts. What C Crane
has done here is actually pretty awesome. They have built an absolutely awesome
radio that seems to find new ways to be useful. This device feels like a
companion, easy and comfortable to carry, and surprising you with its
usefulness. For having so much functionality, it does each job very well. It's
difficult to explain how absolutely perfect this radio fulfills everything that
I needed. The people at C Crane are amazing. I was one of the people requesting
Bluetooth months ago. The fact that they listened and added it blew me away.
This is my third radio from them, and they are always helpful and kind. I look
forward to my family and I patronizing them for many years to come!

Can't say enough great things it.
I live in a river valley with heavy industry and lights. this radio picks up my
am talk radio stations with great reception with out fading and drifting. I
usually scan at night and most clear channel stations east of the Mississippi
River comes in.

I have 3 solar observer radios. These are quality units They hold their charge
well. Just charged one of the 3 radios with near depleted charge (difficult to

I have an old CCRaido2 that had an antenna go south. I have ten grandchildren so
I can't think of what could have happened. The old radio rides again. Thanks for
stocking parts, It says alot that your radios last long enough to need them.

Great little radio. I have Crane's Radio 2E which I've enjoyed for years, but I
wanted something smaller for travelling. This radio was an Orphan special price.
It is smaller than I had anticipated but that is a good thing...easier to pack.

Antenna for CC pocket radio
The item is actually hard to find unless you use CCranes website. It makes a BIG
difference in reception even though headphones do work, BUT not as well as your
antenna. It works great, it's a great buy and helps bring in so many channels
and will make you happy with your pocket radio purchase!

Fantastic for use with Zoom and Teams.
These are amazing - solving many audio problems with Zoom and Teams. Using an
