Position Summary: Manages and oversees all activities related to integrated engineering systems at Swagelok. Responsibilities include analyzing, recommending, planning, coordinating and executing all engineering systems developed or purchased to support the business strategies from manufacturing through assembly. Systems include, but are not limited to CAD/ CAM, PLC programming, Robotic Interfaces, Set-up database, Gauging and other metrologies, and including the design framework and governance / compliance for said processes. This function helps drive our manufacturing systems competencies as related to the expansion of the SAP business systems, and other system based competencies, and makes recommendations as to what should be developed internally (parametric, data tables) and SAP MII and other suites, verses purchased systems that are integrated to enable overall operational execution (Esprit CAM) . This position would also lead our program office as it relates to SAP and our Shop Floor of the Future integration. This would include developing an overall action plan to investigate, report, present, and recommend courses of action to create or leverage the required competencies. Additionally, this function will direct the day to day activities of data gathering/analysis, product follow/logistics analysis, business case analysis, project management, and related technical support work. The integrated systems efforts must be aligned and coordinated with Swagelok’s business strategies, position statements, and key functional areas, which include: Finance, Engineering, Marketing, Operations, Human Resources, Information Services, Distributor Support, Communications, etc. Essential Duties & Responsibilities: - Develops implements, maintains and governs integrated engineering systems roadmap. Includes Shop Floor of the Future program/ roadmap and associated programs as approved. - Manages programs, projects and activities related to the implementation of the manufacturing and quality systems and including change management. - Provides project management steering for selected projects within the overall programs. - Identifies appropriate resources and prepares detailed program activities, estimates, budgets and schedules. - Directs day-to-day activities of direct reports, with primary responsibilities of doing data gathering, product flow analysis, business case analyses, project management, and other related work. - Reports progress on all objectives as required through written and oral communication. - Communicates with project customer(s) and steering group (Flow Steering Committee, CIC Committee, BPC) on project scope (costs, benefits, risks and schedule) and progress - Monitors and evaluates all program activities for compliance with project management methodologies, policies and procedures. - Coordinates all activities with the appropriate functional areas, both within and outside of Swagelok. - Ensures that assigned programs adhere to current project management, security, quality, engineering and customer service requirements and standards. - Develops a strong core of manufacturing engineering personnel capable of creating the framework and architecture for significant manufacturing systems and process development activities. - Assists the organization with the development and execution of manufacturing processes as required - Oversees the procurement processes required to acquire goods and services to attain program objectives. This would include the negotiation and procurement of significant amounts of capital equipment and contract engineering services. - Develops direct reports via Associate Results and Development (ARD) objectives and competencies, including the use of a personal development plan - Develops a personal development plan, using selected competencies as focus areas, and review progress with manager periodically - As a leader, you are expected to know, enforce, and appropriately escalate all Swagelok associate policies. Approximate # of direct reports (if applicable) – approximately 5 -7 direct reports Budget Responsibility: Annual departmental budget - $1-3 million; annual organizational capital budget - $500k - $1M Education and/or Work Experience: Required: Education: * Four year engineering degree. * Appropriate continuous education. Experience: * 8 to 10 years within manufacturing engineering, systems engineering, or supply chain processes. * 3 to 5 years of program management or formal departmental leadership. * Advanced knowledge of integrated engineering systems, software, SAP, and business processes. * Intermediate knowledge of Swagelok products, markets, suppliers, and the outbound supply chain. * Experience with various CNC machine tools platforms. * Experience with CAM and various other various other programs/systems integrated to CNC machine platforms. Skills/Knowledge: Strong leadership skills, communication skills, conflict resolution skills, consensus building skills, and advanced project management skills. Good understanding of intellectual property system and requirements. Flexibility; managerial courage; financial and business acumen. Preferred: Education: Master’s degree or equivalent skills and experience are encouraged.
