We appreciate the simple things in life; trees swaying in a tropical breeze,
bird songs, sunrises, sunsets, the feeling of a warm sun on our face.
If you feel the same, you can expect all of this and more during your stay at
Moalboal Eco Lodge.

Nestled amongst palm trees, our bamboo huts are in harmony with nature without
compromising your comfort. Situated close enough to Panagsama Beach and Moalboal
to enjoy the bustling activities, but with peace and tranquillity to make you
feel a million miles away.

During your visit, we are committed to ensuring you have the best stay possible,
but also to minimise your impact as you travel. Following the Coronavirus
pandemic, if you are concerned about physical/social distancing, we have plenty
of space to ensure your peace of mind. We continue to adhere to strict
sanitisation guidelines for your health and safety. For your peace of mind,

Eco tourism, sustainable and responsible travel are our core values. We
continually strive to protect our precious planet in our daily routines, and are
constantly learning new ways to improve our actions and lessen our impact.

WHAT IS WAITING FOR YOU IN MOALBOAL

Moalboal is the scuba diving and freediving capital of Cebu, and an
up-and-coming destination in the “Queen of the South”. A small yet lively
coastal town, it’s perfect for adventure seekers, ocean lovers and nature
enthusiasts. 
Sea 
Do you want to swim with 8 million sardines? At nearby Panagsama Beach you will
find the world-famous sardine run! Snorkel, freedive or scuba dive every day of
the year with this natural phenomenon.

Sunbathing
Top up your tan and relax at Basdaku “White Beach”. Lambug Beach is one of the
“secrets of Cebu” only 30 minutes away.

Waterfalls
Is chasing waterfalls on your agenda? Take a day trip and choose from 30
beautiful waterfalls within a 90 minute radius. 

Adventure
Canyoneering at the famous Kawasan Falls, go jungle trekking, get off the beaten
track on a cycling tour, or hike to Osmena Peak the highest point in Cebu.

Pamper yourself
What better way to relax than with a massage, manicure, pedicure or decent
haircut! You can do all of this during your stay.

Our Eco-Friendly Practices
At Moalboal Eco Lodge, sustainability is more than just an industry buzzword.
Environmental initiatives are at the core of what we do, and our daily practices
go beyond turning off taps and light switches.
 * Rooms are designed with high roofs and cross-ventilation providing natural
   airflow to keep you cool. A fan is also provided, but there is no air con. 
 * We have a rainwater collection system to provide you with water.
 * Water from the shower, sink and washing machine is reused to water the
   garden.
 * Not one single tree was cut to build the Eco Lodge.
 * Zero Waste is important to us. We try to reduce the amount of trash sent to
   landfill by reusing, upcycling and recycling as much as possible.
 * Food waste and vegetable peelings are composted.
 * We do not use single use plastics. When plastic is unavoidable (such as in
   packaging), we stuff Ecobricks which are used to make planters and furniture.
 * The unsustainable collection of palm oil deeply saddens us. We source as many
   ingredients as possible in our daily personal life and for the lodge which do
   not use palm oil.
 * No chemicals are used for cleaning, only natural ingredients, this includes
   laundry and dish washing.

How you can help
Our rooms are built to provide you with a comfortable stay with as little impact
as possible on resources. 
 * Fresh linen and towels are provided but we encourage guests to reuse whenever
   possible. 
 * Every energy saving effort is significant. Please switch off the lights and
   fan when you leave the room. 
 * To avoid water shortage, we would appreciate if you could help us conserve
   water by turning off the shower whilst soaping yourself/washing your hair,
   and do not leave the tap running whilst brushing your teeth.
 * A refillable water bottle is provided for your use during your stay with us.
   Please carry it with you on day trips and refill wherever possible. We will
   happily refill your bottle for free, and a litre of water is provided for
   free daily in your room.
 * A reusable tote bag is provided for your use during your stay with us. Please
   carry it with you at all times and use it for all your shopping needs.
 * For smokers, we provide a free portable ashtray which we encourage you to
   use, especially when visiting a beach. Discarded cigarettes are one of the
   worst trash offenders in our ocean, and are mistaken by birds and fish as
   food. Cigarette butts have micro-plastics within them and are not
   biodegradable.


The Philippines is the 3rd largest contributor to plastic waste into our oceans
(after China and Indonesia respectively), and as a developing country, there are
issues with proper waste management and recycling. By saying no to single use
plastic and carrying refillable items at all times, this will reduce your impact
on the plastic problem here in Moalboal.
