It includes an overview of the project goals, an orientation to the data relationships, and procedures for critical business processes. Please note that this resource will continue to be altered as the project evolves. NOTES ABOUT LANGUAGE Understanding how Salesforce works can be facilitated by taking on a for-profit/revenue-oriented mindset when thinking about the terminology used in the system. People become “Contacts”, schools become “Accounts”, contracts become “Opportunities”, etc. It will be to your advantage to mentally equate and start to use Salesforce’s word choices in lieu of your instinctive terms. While ungainly at first, adopting Salesforce’s terminology will quickly become second nature and will lead to a more rapid facility within the system. Relatedly, as you explore this resource you will notice that Salesforce terms are occasionally capitalized to distinguish them from the prosaic use of those same terms. For example, “You can find the contacts connected to an account by opening an Account record and scrolling down to the Contacts related list.” © 2024 YA SF ↑
