We strive for a world in which people experience good mental wellbeing, live in
peaceful communities and in balance with the natural environment.





OUR VISION


THE AAP ORGANIZATION ENVISIONS A WORLD FREE OF POVERTY, WHERE ALL INDIVIDUALS
HAVE ACCESS TO BASIC NECESSITIES, EQUAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEVELOPMENT, AND THE
TOOLS TO IMPROVE THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.


OUR VISION

AAPORGANIZATION'S MISSION IS TO END POVERTY IN SOMALIA BY FOCUSING ON IMPROVING
LIVES, ECONOMIC GROWTH, AND PROVIDING FREE HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATION.


OUR WORK FEEDS INTO THE ACHIEVEMENT OF THE SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS DEFINED
BY THE UNITED NATIONS. THEY AIM TO END POVERTY, FIGHT INEQUALITY AND INJUSTICE
AND TACKLE CLIMATE CHANGE BY 2030. WE CONSIDER DEVELOPMENT AS A HOLISTIC PROCESS
AND OUR WORK LINKS TO ALL 17 GOALS. OUR CORE FOCUS AND AREA OF EXPERTISE IS GOOD
HEALTH AND WELL-BEING (3), CLIMATE ACTION (13) AND PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG
INSTITUTIONS (16). OUR ACTIONS FURTHER TARGET NO POVERTY (1), GENDER EQUALITY
(5), AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN ENERGY (7) AND SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND COMMUNITIES
(11).




THE TEAM


WE HAVE COME TOGETHER WITH OUR DIVERSE BACKGROUNDS AND INTERESTS, INSPIRED BY A
SHARED VISION OF A SUSTAINABLE AND JUST GLOBAL COMMUNITY.
WE ARE ENGAGED IN DEVELOPMENT WORK, RESEARCH, AND ACTIVISM, AND HAVE MANY YEARS
OF EXPERIENCE IN A WIDE RANGE OF NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANISATIONS, UN AGENCIES,
AND RESEARCH INSTITUTIONS. OUR GOAL IS TO DECENTRALISE DEBATES AND ACTIONS,
STRENGTHEN HORIZONTAL LINES OF COMMUNICATION, AND FOSTER GENUINE COLLABORATION
ACROSS ALL OUR PROJECTS.

Prof. Nasrudiin Mohamed is the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management
Science at Red Sea University. He is highly regarded for his dedication to
community service, regularly working to support and uplift the local society.
His efforts extend beyond academia, as he actively participates in initiatives
that improve social welfare and economic development in the region. Known for
his leadership and commitment, Prof. Nasrudiin combines his expertise in
economics with a passion for helping others, making a significant impact both
within the university and the broader community.

Vice Chairperson

Dr. Khadar Ahmed is the Director of Sadex Hidkod Hospital, where he is
recognized for his compassionate approach to healthcare. Deeply committed to
community service, Dr. Khadar ensures that his hospital provides free medical
services to individuals who cannot afford treatment. His efforts have made a
significant difference in the lives of many, particularly those in underserved
communities. In addition to his role as a hospital director, Dr. Khadar serves
as the Vice Chairperson of AAPSOM (Action Against Poverty Somalia), where he
advocates for alleviating poverty and improving healthcare standards across the
region.
