<p><strong>I will make sure that all of the kids in the program are supervised at all times.</strong> <span style="font-size: 10pt;">I will be attentive to the children’s needs and will look to staff training and direction when
needed. I will refrain from being on my phone when I’m with the kids and will maintain an appropriate level of engagement when with the kids.</span></p>

<p><strong>I will not be alone with a kid</strong>, but will keep myself safe by making sure that there are always two adults in an enclosed space working with kids. </p>

<p><strong>I will make sure that all of the kids in the program are supervised at all times.</strong> If I see a kid wandering off alone, I will go and bring him or her back to the group, while explaining why it isn’t okay to wander
off alone. I will work with the other volunteers to decide whether to watch the kids using a zone system or a buddy system. At the end of Kid’s Program, I will reconnect the child with his or her Mother. If at any time an unknown
adult seeks to take custody of the child, I will take the child to an Acres staff person immediately to clear the situation.</p>

<p><strong>If there is an emergency of any kind, or if I have a question about how to respond to something, I will find a designated staff person. </strong></p>

<p>Acres of Diamonds is a Christian agency following the precepts of Christianity including:</p>

<p>Acres of Diamond maintains records and gathers information of a private or sensitive nature that must be kept confidential. During the course of your volunteering with us, you may have access to or become aware of confidential
information about residents, employees, donors, or other volunteers. To promote the safety of and respect for everyone in our organization, we ask all employees, volunteers, and residents to follow these guidelines. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Confidential information includes (but is not limited to): </p>
<ul>
<li>Residents’ medical, financial, personal, and program information</li>
<li>Residents’ presence at the facility</li>
<li>Employee records and personal information</li>
<li>Volunteer records and personal information</li>
<li>Donor records and personal information</li>
<li>Acres of Diamonds’ archival records, operating data, management information, and financial data</li>
<li>Any other information pertaining to the management, operations, development, and planning of the organization</li>
</ul>

<p>Confidential information may not be discussed, disclosed, disseminated, or used outside of necessary job duties. This includes the removal or copying of any Acres of Diamonds information, or use of that material off the premises
unless explicitly permitted by staff. It also includes posting information on social media websites or external organization sites. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Appropriate discussions of confidential information must occur in private settings away from other employees, volunteers, or residents. No information may be given to residents’ friends, families, other employees, volunteers, or
the public without explicit permission. All employees, volunteers, and residents will be asked whether they agree to be photographed for educations, promotional, or fundraising efforts. Please do not take pictures of residents or
their children on personal devices (no picture should ever be posted online of a resident or their children to maintain their safety).</p>

<p>Acres of Diamonds will make every effort to ensure that your confidentiality and privacy are protected. If you have any questions about whether or not information is confidential, please ask your volunteer supervisor. </p>
<p> </p>
<p>Please let us know if a media outlet (print, web, radio, or TV) or social media platform contacts you about your work with Acres of Diamonds. We are thrilled to have the opportunity to spread our message, but all media requests
must go through office staff to ensure confidentiality and safety of our employees, residents, and volunteers. </p>

<h1><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Safety First</span></h1>
<p>We value the safety and health of all residents, employees and volunteers. We expect all to follow the policies that have been designed to promote safety at Acres of Diamonds. Please communicate any injuries witnessed onsite to
staff. Including accidental minor injuries (including but not limited to; kids, residents, volunteers, and yourself). In case of immediate emergency, call 911.</p>
<p> </p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Health Considerations</strong></span></p>
<p>As a congregate living facility, there are many opportunities for illness to spread, as well as increased chance of exposure due to the vulnerable population we serve. While we endeavor to keep Acres of Diamonds as healthy as
possible, when there is a known case of COVID-19 among the resident families, we will require that residents who are positive for COVID-19 to isolate and wear masks in the period following, for the timeframes required by the CDC.
In that event, we will also alert volunteers at the beginning of their shifts and offer masks. If you would prefer other accommodations, please let us know.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Additionally, we ask that you follow CDC protocols if you have been sick with or exposed to COVID-19 while considering volunteering at Acres (find information regarding how long to isolate and how long to mask here:

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Personal Belongings</span></strong></h2>
<p>Please lock your personal belongings in your car or give them to a member of staff for safe keeping while you are on the property. Acres of Diamonds is not responsible for lost or stolen items.</p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Drugs & Alcohol</span></strong></h2>
<p>Some residents of Acres of Diamonds have a history of drug and or alcohol abuse and this is a clean and sober facility. We strive to be role models for appropriate behavior. If you are under</p>
<p>the influence of drugs or alcohol, don’t come to volunteer.</p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Male Volunteers</span></strong></h2>
<p>Male volunteers must be accompanied by a female volunteer or staff member inside residents’ areas, such as the house or apartments. Please check with staff to arrange times. </p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Respect for Personal Privacy</span></strong></h2>
<p>Please respect the private lives of the women and children here by allowing them to share as they are comfortable. Please see the confidentiality guidelines in this document for more information. </p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Confidentiality</span></strong></h2>
<p>Maintaining confidentiality is crucial for residents, employees and volunteers. The basic rule is: don’t share private information with or about anyone at Acres of Diamonds verbally, in writing, or online without explicit
permission from staff. Please see the confidentiality guidelines in this document for more information.</p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Speak the Word</span></strong></h2>
<p>Our mission isn’t possible without God working in each of the residents’ lives. Feel free to be an extension of staff by speaking God’s word to and with residents, encouraging them, and praying with and for them as they feel
comfortable or request it. </p>

<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Professional & Ethical Conduct</span></strong></h2>
<p>All volunteers must comply fully with the law in their conduct and activities on behalf of Acres of Diamonds. Our integrity and honesty must be above reproach. </p>
<p> </p>
<h2><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">General Interaction with Residents</span></strong></h2>
<ul>
<li>Don’t touch or hug residents without permission as many residents are uncomfortable with this.</li>
<li>All donations must go through the office staff for processing.</li>
<li>Don’t give money or cigarettes to residents.</li>
<li>If you are driving residents in your car, we must have proof of insurance on file.</li>
<li>Please don’t offer advice. Rather, ask leading questions or tell your story.</li>
<li>Sometimes residents may want to complain about Acres staff to you -- this is okay, and can be a part of the healing process. Feel free to respond compassionately by validating the feelings expressed (ex: "Wow, that does sound
frustrating!"). Residents can always reach out directly to staff about their frustrations as well, so you can also feel free to encourage them to reach out via text or the notify email to set up a time to talk. </li>

In order to keep our campus safe for the families who call Acres home, we ask
that all volunteers 18 years and older allow us to run a background check on
them before they volunteer. Having something come up on your background check
does not necessarily disqualify you from volunteering, but it might mean that we

Acres staff works hard to ensure the emotional and physical safety of residents
and volunteers. For this reason, we have a few additional questions for
applicants who would like to work directly with residents (both adults and
children). If you are hoping to volunteer in maintenance, facilities,
landscaping, office, events, or donations, please feel free to skip this
section.

ACRES KIDS PROGRAM VOLUNTEER EXPECTATIONS
(Only for volunteers interested in serving in Kids Program)
I will make sure that all of the kids in the program are supervised at all
times. I will be attentive to the children’s needs and will look to staff
training and direction when needed. I will refrain from being on my phone when
I’m with the kids and will maintain an appropriate level of engagement when with
the kids.
I will not be alone with a kid, but will keep myself safe by making sure that
there are always two adults in an enclosed space working with kids.
I will make sure that all of the kids in the program are supervised at all
times. If I see a kid wandering off alone, I will go and bring him or her back
to the group, while explaining why it isn’t okay to wander off alone. I will
work with the other volunteers to decide whether to watch the kids using a zone
system or a buddy system. At the end of Kid’s Program, I will reconnect the
child with his or her Mother. If at any time an unknown adult seeks to take
custody of the child, I will take the child to an Acres staff person immediately
to clear the situation.
If there is an emergency of any kind, or if I have a question about how to
respond to something, I will find a designated staff person.
I will be teachable, open to feedback, and give feedback. Everyone at Acres is
always learning and growing. We work to have a growth mindset where we are open
to giving and receiving feedback and supporting others in that.

Acres Vision and Mission
CHRISTIAN FOUNDATION
Acres of Diamonds is a Christian agency following the precepts of Christianity
including:
1. We believe in God the Father of us all who created everything above us,
around us, and beneath us; seen and unseen.
2. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son who voluntarily died on
the cross so we could be forgiven of sin, and inherit eternal life with
Him.
3. Such salvation is by God’s grace alone; good works cannot even partially
add to what He has done completely for me.
4. We obey joyfully out of a relationship of love to Him personally.
5. Christ was resurrected from death and ascended to heaven.
6. We too will be resurrected out of the grave and caught up to be with Him
forever.
7. We believe in the Holy Spirit who never stops praying for us, and continues
to relentlessly mold us into the character of Jesus.
8. The Holy Spirit united with our spirit gives each of us gifts (1 Cor. 12)
and fruit (Gal. 5) to validate to us the reality of Jesus in our lives.
9. The Holy Spirit is the down payment and evidence of our eternal life.
10. We believe in the universal, one body of Christ, designed by Him to live in
love and unity (John 17).
CONFIDENTIALITY GUIDELINES
Acres of Diamond maintains records and gathers information of a private or
sensitive nature that must be kept confidential. During the course of your
volunteering with us, you may have access to or become aware of confidential
information about residents, employees, donors, or other volunteers. To promote
the safety of and respect for everyone in our organization, we ask all
employees, volunteers, and residents to follow these guidelines.
Confidential information includes (but is not limited to):
* Residents’ medical, financial, personal, and program information
* Residents’ presence at the facility
* Employee records and personal information
* Volunteer records and personal information
* Donor records and personal information
* Acres of Diamonds’ archival records, operating data, management information,
and financial data
* Any other information pertaining to the management, operations, development,
and planning of the organization
Confidential information may not be discussed, disclosed, disseminated, or used
outside of necessary job duties. This includes the removal or copying of any
Acres of Diamonds information, or use of that material off the premises unless
explicitly permitted by staff. It also includes posting information on social
media websites or external organization sites.
Appropriate discussions of confidential information must occur in private
settings away from other employees, volunteers, or residents. No information may
be given to residents’ friends, families, other employees, volunteers, or the
public without explicit permission. All employees, volunteers, and residents
will be asked whether they agree to be photographed for educations, promotional,
or fundraising efforts. Please do not take pictures of residents or their
children on personal devices (no picture should ever be posted online of a
resident or their children to maintain their safety).
Acres of Diamonds will make every effort to ensure that your confidentiality and
privacy are protected. If you have any questions about whether or not
information is confidential, please ask your volunteer supervisor.
Please let us know if a media outlet (print, web, radio, or TV) or social media
platform contacts you about your work with Acres of Diamonds. We are thrilled to
have the opportunity to spread our message, but all media requests must go
through office staff to ensure confidentiality and safety of our employees,
residents, and volunteers.
SAFETY FIRST
We value the safety and health of all residents, employees and volunteers. We
expect all to follow the policies that have been designed to promote safety at
Acres of Diamonds. Please communicate any injuries witnessed onsite to staff.
Including accidental minor injuries (including but not limited to; kids,
residents, volunteers, and yourself). In case of immediate emergency, call 911.
Health Considerations
As a congregate living facility, there are many opportunities for illness to
spread, as well as increased chance of exposure due to the vulnerable population
we serve. While we endeavor to keep Acres of Diamonds as healthy as possible,
when there is a known case of COVID-19 among the resident families, we will
require that residents who are positive for COVID-19 to isolate and wear masks
in the period following, for the timeframes required by the CDC. In that event,
we will also alert volunteers at the beginning of their shifts and offer masks.
If you would prefer other accommodations, please let us know.
Additionally, we ask that you follow CDC protocols if you have been sick with or
exposed to COVID-19 while considering volunteering at Acres (find information

VOLUNTEER POLICIES
Time on Acres Property
Because this is a safe home for families, staff needs to be aware of who is on
the residential property at any given time. Please ensure you have scheduled
with staff when you are going to be visiting the Acres of Diamonds home or
apartments.
PERSONAL BELONGINGS
Please lock your personal belongings in your car or give them to a member of
staff for safe keeping while you are on the property. Acres of Diamonds is not
responsible for lost or stolen items.
DRUGS & ALCOHOL
Some residents of Acres of Diamonds have a history of drug and or alcohol abuse
and this is a clean and sober facility. We strive to be role models for
appropriate behavior. If you are under
the influence of drugs or alcohol, don’t come to volunteer.
MALE VOLUNTEERS
Male volunteers must be accompanied by a female volunteer or staff member inside
residents’ areas, such as the house or apartments. Please check with staff to
arrange times.
RESPECT FOR PERSONAL PRIVACY
Please respect the private lives of the women and children here by allowing them
to share as they are comfortable. Please see the confidentiality guidelines in
this document for more information.
CONFIDENTIALITY
Maintaining confidentiality is crucial for residents, employees and volunteers.
The basic rule is: don’t share private information with or about anyone at Acres
of Diamonds verbally, in writing, or online without explicit permission from
staff. Please see the confidentiality guidelines in this document for more
information.
SPEAK THE WORD
Our mission isn’t possible without God working in each of the residents’ lives.
Feel free to be an extension of staff by speaking God’s word to and with
residents, encouraging them, and praying with and for them as they feel
comfortable or request it.
If you are uncertain of what to say, reach out to a member of staff for
guidance.
PROFESSIONAL & ETHICAL CONDUCT
All volunteers must comply fully with the law in their conduct and activities on
behalf of Acres of Diamonds. Our integrity and honesty must be above reproach.
GENERAL INTERACTION WITH RESIDENTS
* Don’t touch or hug residents without permission as many residents are
uncomfortable with this.
* All donations must go through the office staff for processing.
* Don’t give money or cigarettes to residents.
* If you are driving residents in your car, we must have proof of insurance on
file.
* Please don’t offer advice. Rather, ask leading questions or tell your story.
* Sometimes residents may want to complain about Acres staff to you -- this is
okay, and can be a part of the healing process. Feel free to respond
compassionately by validating the feelings expressed (ex: "Wow, that does
sound frustrating!"). Residents can always reach out directly to staff about
their frustrations as well, so you can also feel free to encourage them to
reach out via text or the notify email to set up a time to talk.
