REVIVE - REHABILITATION, HERITAGE, AND TOURISM

The REVIVE PROGRAM is a Ministries of Economy initiative for promoting and
streamlining the processes of rehabilitation and enhancement of vacant public
assets, making them suitable for economic activity oriented towards tourism,
enhancing the attractiveness of regional destinations, deconcentrate demand and
develop various regions of the country, generating wealth and employment, thus
contributing to the economic and social cohesion of the national territory.

The REVIVE program may incorporate properties with architectural, historical,
cultural, or other relevant value, owned by municipalities, public institutes or
public companies, subject to the favorable opinion of the REVIVE Technical Team
and the agreement of the Government members responsible for the areas of
finance, tourism and culture.

REVIVE properties are placed on the market through a public tender or a
restricted tender for prior qualification, with international advertising, with
a view to concession for extended periods (usually for 50 years). The tender
procedures shall incorporate a series of technical and legal premises for
safeguarding the public values present in each property.

Once the tender has been concluded, the licensing of the works shall follow the
procedure stipulated in the legislation in force. The concession requires the
execution of works, including infrastructure, and subsequent tourism operation
as hotel establishment, or other project with tourist vocation, in accordance
with the legislation in force.

The REVIVE website (https://revive.turismodeportugal.pt/en) gives access to the
properties of the program, and also to the open procedures and their respective
documents - Announcement, programmed specifications and other needed documents.

Currently, there are two open procedures - Colégio de S. Fiel and Mosteiro de
Santa Clara-a-Nova.

Colégio de S. Fiel, in Louriçal do Campo, Castelo Branco
Concession period: 50 (fifty) years; Minimal annual rent: €21 750,00.
Total construction area: 17 394,40 SqM.
