Skip to main content. * * * -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- * Profile * Sign Out Esc GRADUATE EXPLORATION GEOLOGIST Saudi Arabia JOB DESCRIPTION Position : Graduate Exploration Geologist Location : Jabal Sayid, Medinah Province, Saudi Arabia Start Date : Responsible for : Advancing Exploration at Jabal Sayid and the surrounding 100km area Requirements include but are not limited to: field mapping, surface drill rig supervision, core logging, trenching, data capture and interpretation, and supporting the Exploration and wider Geology team as needed. Ensure geological cross-sections, flitches, long-sections and maps are kept up to date with the latest information as programs progress to allow for real-time decision making. Under supervision of the site Exploration lead, undertake quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) with a particular focus on drillhole data and assay results. This includes producing QAQC reports involving the analysis of certified standards, blanks, duplicates, and spiked blanks, as directed. The primary objective is to support the Exploration team in the objective of adding significant value to the Jabal Sayid mine through geology driven growth. This will require working outside, within the framework of established Health and Safety procedures which are linked to the requirements, rules, laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Opportunities will be available for exposure to the Mining and Mineral Resource Departments, but the candidate must be primarily interested in Exploration activities and outputs. Qualifications: Essential: Recognized tertiary qualifications in Geology. Valid light vehicle driver’s license. First Aid Certificate. Desirable: Registration with a professional body or association. Experience: Essential: Demonstrated commitment to safety, community and environment. The candidate should be fit for work in a challenging hot and arid environment. Desirable: Experience working outside undertaking field mapping. Undergraduate industry placement experience on a mine or exploration site. Additional Requirements: Essential: Competent in English (spoken / written). Good communication skills – ability to successfully develop effective working relationships. Strong work ethic, willing to adapt roster for work requirements. Strong team player attitude. Understanding of budgeting financial resources. On site mentoring and training will be provided. Desirable: Knowledge of Arabic Experience with GIS (ArcGIS, ArcGISPro, MapInfo, QGIS, Micromine, Leapfrog). ABOUT US Our mission is to be the world’s most valued gold and copper mining business. ABOUT THE TEAM The Jabal Sayid copper operation is located 350 kilometers north-east of Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It’s a 50/50 joint venture operation with Ma’aden. The first shipment of copper concentrate occurred in December 2015, and the mine commenced commercial production in July 2016.
