Please select... Email Telephone I give you permission to contact me on the above details and agree to the Privacy Policy Submit -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIRD PARTY ACCREDITED TRAINING Our course has been meticulously reviewed by the Institution of Fire Engineers and approved as one of their recognised training courses. Every certificate of completion is stamped the with IFE logo and seal of approval. More information on the accreditation can be found below. EXPERT TRAINERS This isn't your standard "PowerPoint presentation". The trainers use a mix of learning models to ensure attendees get the most from the time with them. Attendees benefit from the face to face nature of our training where questions can be asked, discussed and answered by our expert trainers. CERTIFICATION A certificate of attendance will be issued for each attendee following successful completion of the course. Certificates are valid for 3 years from the date of the training. REAL LIFE SCENARIOS Our training is designed not only to provide knowledge but to train the attendees to use this knowledge in real-life scenarios should it ever be required. WHO IS THIS COURSE SUITABLE FOR? * Those responsible for overseeing Fire Safety (Such as the Responsible Person) * Those wanting to become a Fire Warden or those whose existing training has expired * New employees or employees who have relocated to another branch/location * Anyone who wants to improve their Fire Safety knowledge No prior experience or fire safety knowledge is necessary to take this course. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- COURSE FORMAT Our interactive course typically lasts between 2.5-3 hours and takes the form of an informative presentation, question and answers throughout, detailed handouts complete with a practical Fire Extinguisher demonstration with Live Fire Simulator. Our trainers will provide their own computer and projector, we simply need an area where they can set up their equipment and all attendees can sit comfortably (and socially distanced during the COVID-19 Pandemic in accordance with government guidelines). -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- WHAT SUBJECTS DOES THE FIRE WARDEN / MARSHAL TRAINING COVER? * Legal responsibility under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 * Fire prevention covering relevant aspects related to your business & premises * Live Fire Simulator and use of Fire Extinguishers* * Real life case studies * Fire safety checklists * The "Fire Triangle" and the spread of fire * Electrical safety in the workplace * Compartmentation in properties * Kitchen fire safety * Improving fire safety * Evacuation strategies * Fire service/brigade liaison & requirements * Grab bags & their importance * PEEP (Personal Emergency Evacuation Plans) * COSHH/DSEAR regulations * Comprised escape route strategies including safe room -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- OUR COURSE IS NOW AVAILABLE ONLINE TOO! Due to COVID-19 we have proudly adapted our course so it is now available to be delivered online too. Our online courses are in the same format and cover the same information as our on-site courses. They are a presented course by knowledgeable and experienced trainers, allowing you to ask questions and discuss matters raised ensuring you have the time and expertise provided to learn the information required. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- THIRD PARTY ACCREDITED BY THE INSTITUTION OF FIRE ENGINEERS Our course has been independently assessed by the Institution of Fire Engineers (IFE) and approved as a Recognised Training Course. The IFE reviews specific training courses to determine if they meet the high standards and level of detail necessary to obtain this accreditation. Utilising their knowledge of professional standards, close involvement with industry, education and regulators means it is uniquely placed to independently assess and recognise training providers and courses only offering this status to reviewed and audited training material and trainers. Our full accreditation status can be found on the IFE site by Clicking Here. TACKLE REAL FIRES USING OUR CONTROLLED FIRE SIMULATOR Included as part of our course, we will deploy our demonstration controlled fire simulator and fire extinguishers. This enables the attendees to gain valuable hands-on experience and build confidence using a genuine fire extinguisher, the functions for safe use and handling (e.g. Co2, Water etc) and the methods required for tackling different fire types. This can offer "real life" experience so the attendees can be confident in their skill and knowledge should the need ever arise to use an extinguisher. Where a fire simulator can not be used (For example due to lack of space or on online courses) this will be replaced with a presentation covering the same information. As the same content will still be covered this does not affect the certification provided, it is the same whether the fire simulator is used or not. FIRE WARDEN / MARSHAL TRAINING FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ'S): Our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's) section is designed to help you with your Fire Warden / Marshal Training queries, however, please feel free to contact us if you would like more detailed information or your question is not listed. WHY DO WE NEED TO UNDERTAKE FIRE SAFETY TRAINING? It is a legal requirement under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 that all employers / responsible persons ensure that all employees are provided with adequate fire safety training. Not only is it a legal requirement but the course offers attendees an insight into the daily management of a property to help reduce the fire risk, as prevention is better than cure after all. This improved knowledge and insight allows each individual to understand the risks posed and therefore the employer / responsible persons then has a team of people actively trying to improve the fire risk in the property, which can only be of benefit. HOW LONG IS THE COURSE? Our course lasts between 2.5 & 3 hours. This can be dependent on group participation. On some occasions, it can run to 3.5 hours, it just really depends on the depth of questions asked. WHAT CERTIFICATION IS PROVIDED? After successful completion of the course, each attendee is provided with an attendance certificate which is valid for 3 years from the date of the course. HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN ATTEND A COURSE? The course is designed for between 1 to 12 people per session. These courses teach vital skills, that in the event of a fire, you may need to remember and use. Having really large groups of people on the course means the attendees do not feel they can ask the questions they need too, therefore, we cap our courses at 12 attendees but recommend group sizes of 10. WHO ARE THE COURSE TRAINERS? From ex-members of the Fire Brigade to Fire Risk Assessors our trainers have a range of experience and knowledge that allow them to provide "real-life" examples. Our trainers are dedicated to improving fire safety and teaching others how to do so in a passionate, positive & friendly manner. They love seeing the attendees at the end of the course knowing they have helped them to understand their responsibilities and passed on their knowledge. HOW DO WE ARRANGE A SESSION? Once you have discussed your requirement with our sales team, they will provide you with a quotation. Once accepted, they will then be in contact to discuss some suitable dates and times to find the best available slot to suit you. If you have a specific date you require please let our sales team know at the very beginning of the enquiry and we will try our best to accommodate, we normally do! IS THERE A DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WARDEN & MARSHAL? In short, No. Marshal & Warden are both frequently used to describe the role they undertake, it's just a different word same meaning. DO WE STILL REQUIRE THE TRAINING DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC? There is absolutely no change or relief in Fire Safety Legislation due to COVID-19 , it is the same now as it was before the pandemic. So yes, you do still require the training to be provided to your staff. Our teams have been defined as key workers and we are therefore offering our courses "like normal". Of course, our trainers will remain socially distanced at all times and wear PPE if this is the requirement of your property. We are now able to offer our course online over programs like Zoom & Microsoft Teams to help reduce the spread of COVID-19. Enquire with our sales team if this would be of interest to you. The information provided in the FAQ's section was correct at the time of writing. Although we always strive to keep this up to date, legislation/standards are frequently updated.
