What is Just Walk Out Shopping?

We created the world’s most advanced shopping technology so you never have to
wait in line. Amazon Go was the first store to open with Just Walk Out
Technology. Our checkout-free shopping experience is made possible by the same
types of technologies used in self-driving cars: computer vision, sensor fusion,
and deep learning. Just Walk Out Technology automatically detects when products
are taken from or returned to the shelves and keeps track of them in a virtual
cart. When you’re done shopping, you can just leave the store. Later, we’ll send
you a receipt and charge your Amazon account. Watch a video here to learn more

How do I shop at Amazon Go?

All you need is an Amazon account, the free Amazon Shopping app, and a
recent-generation iPhone or Android phone. You can find the Amazon Shopping app
in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon Appstore.

When you arrive, open the app, tap “In-Store Code,” and scan in with the QR code
presented. Just browse and shop like you would at any other store. Once you’re
done shopping, you’re on your way. No lines, no checkout.

At select Amazon Go store locations, you can also enter the store by using a
credit card linked to your Amazon account or by using Amazon One. Amazon One is
a fast, convenient, contactless way for people to use their palm to enter and
pay for items purchased at Amazon Go. You can learn more about Amazon One here.

Can I shop the store with my family and friends?

Of course! Simply use the In-Store Code in your Amazon Shopping app to scan once
for your group to enter. If you’re entering Amazon Go using an Amazon-linked
credit card or Amazon One, a single scan is also sufficient for the group.

Everyone can then shop the store like normal. Any items taken off the shelf by
family or friends who entered the store using your app will be added to your
virtual cart. If they return any items back to the shelf while in the store,
those items will be removed from your virtual cart.

Do you have any people working in the store?

Yes. Our great team of store employees is an important part of the experience at
Amazon Go. You’ll see employees greeting shoppers at the door, restocking
shelves, answering questions, and making product recommendations. We’ve simply
shifted how our store teams spend their time so they can help deliver a great
experience for shoppers.

Can I make an Amazon return in Go stores?

Yes, in select Go stores you can return most new, unopened items sold and
fulfilled by Amazon within 30 days of delivery. Learn more about Amazon’s Return
Policy.

To start a return online, visit Your Orders from your Amazon account to view
items eligible for return. Select the item(s) you want to return, follow the
prompts to start your return, and then select your preferred Amazon store as
your drop-off location.

To complete the drop-off at an Amazon Go store, visit the returns processing
area inside the gates of the store. To enter the store, open the Amazon Shopping
app, tap “In-Store Code,” and scan in with the QR code presented. Note that this
is a different QR code than your returns QR code.

Upon drop off in store, you’ll receive an email confirming the store received
the return, and a separate email when your refund is processed. Most refunds are
fully refunded in 3–5 days after we receive and process your return. Learn more
