CHARACTER NAME RULES

Colin Fletcher05.12.24, 8:22 pm

To maintain a welcoming environment, we are introducing rules for character
names. Names found violating these guidelines will be changed to a randomly
generated Tibia name. This ensures that Rookgaard remains a place of fun,
fairness, and respect for everyone.

The implementation of a set of rules has been found necessary as the initial
common-sense and gentleman code approach did not work within the community.

Prohibited character names include those that:

 * a) Contain insults or offensive language.
 * b) Are racist or discriminatory.
 * c) Refer to sexual content or acts.
 * d) Promote or reference drugs or drug culture.
 * e) Are related to crimes or criminal activities.
 * f) Target or harass other players.
 * g) Induce disgust or discomfort.
 * h) Advertise products, services, or external platforms.
 * i) Reference religion, politics, or ideology.
 * j) Imply violations of game rules or mechanics.

 *

We trust that these rules will uphold the integrity of our community while
fostering creativity and fair play. If you spot a name that may violate these
rules, you can report it through the in-game Ctrl+Z support system.

Let's keep the Independent Rookgaard a thriving and positive place to explore!

MORE FARMLAND AND HOUSES

Colin Fletcher28.11.24, 1:49 pm
The fields of Rookgaard are buzzing with life as farming becomes one of the most
sought-after activities for newcomers and seasoned adventurers alike. From the
sprawling farmlands of Willie to the fruit orchards and sugarcane fields of
Billy, everyone is seeking for their share of the bounty. Milking sheep,
planting vegetables, and harvesting wheat are no longer just chores—they're
lucrative opportunities to gain experience, earn a profit, and contribute to the
growing island economy.

But the demand is outpacing the supply. Farmers are calling for more land to
cultivate, and aspiring landowners are seeking their dream houses. The existing
housing options, from the academy's repurposed basement to the newly built
cliffside cottages and even the underground Salmon Lofts, have filled quickly.
The island’s leaders are scrambling to meet the growing demand.

Enter Jeronimo and the Ladybug store, located on the southern Community Island
of Rookgaard. This area, once the quiet home of Zirella, Carlos, and Santiago,
has been transformed into a bustling harbor. With it comes an exciting
opportunity: houses with orchards and fields, perfect for those eager to grow
their own crops and join the farming movement.

Innovation doesn’t stop at more farmland. Farmers are now using bone meal—a
fertilizer made from crushed bones—to drastically speed up crop growth. This
newfound method has sparked a revolution in agriculture, creating endless
possibilities to expand food production and maximize profits. But with
opportunity comes challenges: swarms of insects threaten to plague the orchards,
and the clay-rich farmland soil poses a potential resource waiting to be
utilized.

The independent Rookgaard is evolving rapidly, and farming is at its heart. Will
you rise to the challenge, defend the crops, and help shape the future of this
thriving island? The soil is fertile, the orchards are waiting, and the time to
plant your roots is now!

NORMA'S NEW VISION

Colin Fletcher27.11.24, 10:44 am
Norma—who prefers to be called Mary—has always been a woman of many trades and
endless energy. From selling general equipment to running a lively bar, her
ambitions have shifted as often as her wardrobe. Known for her wit, charm, and
signature fancy hats, she’s never shied away from following the winds of change.
And now, those winds are blowing in a brand-new direction.

With the dwarves setting up a sinister bar on the island that is luring away her
clientele, Norma has decided to hang up her bartender’s apron for good. Running
a bar in the shadow of dwarven debauchery no longer suits her style, especially
when it brings in troublesome behaviors. So, she’s reinventing herself yet
again—as Rookgaard’s first furniture designer and retailer!

But this isn’t just any furniture business. Norma has her sights set on
something truly luxurious: pillows, cushions, and comfy furniture made from
Horatio’s seemingly endless supply of chicken and their feathers. She envisions
colorful, cozy creations to fill the homes of Rookgaard’s growing population.
However, she can’t do it alone. To bring her vision to life, she needs your
help.

Wood: Collect timber from across the island to craft sturdy furniture frames.

Nails: Mine iron ore and help forge the nails to hold it all together.

Dyes: This is the real challenge. Norma dreams of vibrant colors for her
textiles, but needs resourceful adventurers to figure out how to create or
source dyes locally.

She’s counting on your enthusiasm and crafting skills to make her dream a
reality. With your support, Norma’s furniture business could become a
cornerstone of the community, a place where practicality meets style and
comfort.

Grab your tools and get ready to craft the future of Rookgaard, one
feather-filled pillow at a time!

THE BLOOD-STAINED GOLD

Colin Fletcher26.11.24, 3:04 pm
Seymour’s decision to welcome the dwarves to Rookgaard was bold, perhaps too
bold. Once a peaceful island of camaraderie and respect, the allure of mining
riches has brought unforeseen consequences. With the dwarves came iron ore, gold
coins, and opportunities—but also greed, conflict, and a chilling transformation
among the islanders.

The once-friendly community has started to reflect the darker traits of its new
residents. Respect for kin and nature is waning, replaced by an insatiable
hunger for wealth and power. The once-united townsfolk are fracturing, as the
shimmering promise of prosperity blinds them to the moral decay spreading across
the island.

At the heart of this unsettling shift is Mendog, a dwarf who recently opened an
underground bar deep within the mines—a place unreachable for all but the most
skilled and loyal miners. Mendog runs his establishment on his own terms,
opening when he feels like it and treating customers with blatant indifference.
Yet, his reputation flourishes thanks to his offerings: dwarven brews that
loosen tongues and fuel ambitions, and dwarven rings that keep the drinks
flowing.

Humans and dwarves alike crowd into his dimly-lit bar, lured by its forbidden
charm and Mendog’s intoxicating wares. But beneath the revelry lies a sinister
truth: the dwarves are here to stay, and their ambitions don’t end in the mines.
With each coin earned, each human turned miner, their grip tightens, and their
intentions become clearer.

“For the dwarves are here to stay and will never back down!” Mendog’s voice
echoes through the mines, his songs a chilling reminder of what’s to come.
“Humans best beware, your time is running dry!”

Some fear the dwarves’ influence is growing too strong, their presence too
entrenched. Fueled by Mendog’s beverages and unchecked ambition, the dwarven
movement edges closer to the town walls. The island stands on the brink of
chaos, its people torn between wealth and their way of life.

Will Rookgaard’s community resist the rising tide, or will the dwarves’ song of
power become the anthem of the island’s future? Dark times are brewing, and only
time will reveal if Rookgaard can endure.

BIG BUSINESS ARRIVES

Colin Fletcher25.11.24, 1:23 pm

Change is in the air on Rookgaard as big business makes its debut on the island.
With the arrival of Horatio’s expedition, the doors to new possibilities opened
wide, and now, another name is making waves: Jeronimo the Ladybug. But don't let
his species confuse you—he’s a male ladybug and insists you remember it!

Jeronimo is no stranger to success. Known across Tibia for his thriving chain
markets, he’s bringing a fresh take on shopping to Rookgaard. Gone are the days
of old-fashioned haggling or lengthy chit-chat at the counter. In Jeronimo’s
store, items are displayed on open shelves for customers to grab and
self-checkout under his ever-watchful antennae. His competitive pricing promises
to shake up the island’s market, but not everyone is thrilled about it.

Lily, a familiar face to potion-buyers, is already feeling the pressure. To keep
up with the competition, she’s considering introducing a vial lottery, offering
an exclusive decorative addon for mages to the lucky winners.

Meanwhile, Jeronimo’s business ventures extend beyond the store. He’s on the
hunt for suppliers to bring him rare foods, rewarding contributors with loyalty
stickers—ladybugs. Collect enough, and you could ride around on a fancy ladybug
mount or show off a buggy backpack—perfect for turning heads on your next
adventure!

Even Frosch, the frog merchant of Salmon Loft, couldn’t resist the trend. He’s
launched his own loyalty program, offering frosch stickers to his customers, to
be exchanged for a frog mount and frog backpack. It seems Rookgaard is quickly
becoming a hub of innovation and competitive commerce.

With these developments, one thing is clear: the island is evolving. Will
Jeronimo’s modern convenience become the new norm, or will traditional merchants
find creative ways to keep their foothold? The word is out. Now you may start to
hoard some rare foods—from bread and cheese, through fish, vegetables and
walnuts, to fruits and candies, to earn yourself a sticker or two!
