BETTER QUAKE ENGINES

I'm fairly new to Quake, and I watched a few people play it (Ahoy and
GManLives), but I don't know what engine they use. Imagine an ancient monastery
hidden away in the mountains, where aging monks and nuns carve these kitschy
little demonic sandcastles that no one cares about. It's a different kind of
challenge from the same old going in with guns blazing approach. I recently
bought Quake through Steam and I'm having a blast, but I want to try other
engines and be able to use mouselook without having to hold down a key all the

Plus, the bots are great (we tweak them all to give them unique characteristics)
and the sheer volume of maps out there can't be beat IMO.Īt home though I've
DEFINITELY gotten addicted to RTCW. We prefer team-based play and while there
are some good team-based Q3 mods out there, we prefer just the straightforward
CTF play found in UT. Q3 was exciting, but really seemed more suited to
deathmatch style play. It's hard to pinpoint, but we just liked the overall feel
of the game more.

It didn't take long before we ditched Q3 and were playing UT exclusively. We
used to play Q2 at the office when I first got here and then once Q3 and UT came
out we tried to those for awhile.

Lastly, we also father one of the most important legacies of the Universitat:
its bibliographical archives. Another of the audiovisual documents takes up the
social context in which the Universitat has been both a witness and a
protagonist of the transformation process of the city in our most recent
history: the transition from dictatorship to democracy since the ending of the
1970s until the 21 st century. This recording was made from images obtained in
the first cartographies of the city, especially the map produced by father Tosca
in 1704, which allow us to know eighteenth-century Valencia with great
precision. The first one deals with the architectural space of the building,
located in the old Jewish quartier of the València. These recordings tackle
three aspects that we think are significant and inscribed in the own physical
space of La Nau. The final projection exchanges the images, generated by the
digital systems that take part in the device, and the documental recordings
carried out because of the exhibition in La Nau. Far from determinism and the
cause-effect relation that may have guided some cinematographic representations,

displayed in the Exhibition Room of the Polytechnic University of Valencia in
February 2001 and in the Espace Brasseurs of Liege, Belgium, in November 2001.
We carried out an experimental work with the interactive possibilities that
allow digital technologies.

At the end of the 1990s, we were working in R&D project, “ Suppliers that
generate image-light”, funded by the Ministry of Education and Science (MEC).

Particularly, we reflected on the concept of University and how, from an
artistic point of view, we can offer alternatives that expand our conscience and
experience in regards of this. The inclusion of RELOADED in the title of the
exhibition alluded to a previous project, “ PB 97-0335 ”, in which we tackled
the importance of issues related to the development of knowledge. The
interactive audiovisual projection with mapping techniques in non-conventional
spaces” (2014-2016), directed by Amparo Carbonell and Emilio Martínez. In these
projects, they collect the experiences of several previous research projects
about interaction, such as “ Amplified vision: visual tracking systems for
interactive installations in the field of digital art” (2009-2011), directed by
María José Martínez de Pisón, or others about the concept of screen “ Mutant
screens. Creative visualization of sound” (2018-19). In this case,
IDEA-IMATGE-UNIVERSITAT RELOADED is also the result of the research projects in
which the Laboratory of Light is currently working on: “ Development of
interactive systems for the creation and projection of image-light and sound”
(2018-2020) and “ Cyclops. The projection in non-conventional screens is a
constant in the work of the Laboratory of Light since its beginnings, as well as
the interaction with the spectator and the technical mechanism of image
manipulation.
