Book a Student Workshop A STUDENT WORKSHOP DESIGNED FOR GIRLS TO EXPLORE CAREER OPTIONS, PRESENTED BY WOMEN IN THE TECH INDUSTRY Why the tech sector? Because every organisation in every sector is being impacted by advances in technology that change the way they operate, how they engage with their customers, and how they make an impact on society. As individuals we are also impacted by advances in technology that change the way we stay in touch with others, buy products and services, learn and work. What does this mean for girls? Jobs in the tech industry aren't just technology related. We need data scientists, programmers, and software architects. We also need business analysts, human resources, marketing, sales people, managers, and consultants. New and different jobs are being created all the time, and these are being influenced by technology itself. Why hold this workshop? In this workshop your students get to speak with 3-4 women working in the tech sector in Adelaide from a wide variety of organisations and roles. They will share stories about their career journeys and how they have found their place to make an impact in the tech sector. Students can ask them questions about working in the tech industry to help them make their own future study and career decisions. More Info Girls in Tech forums, delivered by HerTechPath volunteers, support our students to learn from and be inspired by some amazing women working in the sector. The biggest revelation for our students is that a career in the Technology industry is much broader than just programming and software design. The industry is crying out for women to participate and these forums open the door for our girls and young women to see how technology will play an important role in their future careers. — Georgie Buenfeld, Pulteney Grammar School Since having some of the awesome HerTechPath speakers at Mitcham Girls High School, we have seen an increase in student interest in Technologies related subjects. This has sparked many conversations about potential tech careers and more importantly debugged the myth of it not being a female industry. I would like to thank HerTechPath and their influence on building a Tech culture at Mitcham. — Simon Brooks, STEM Coordinator, Mitcham Girls High School INTERESTED IN JOINING US ON THE JOURNEY?
