This fact has created a culture of collaborating and working hard together making our way into the market and being able to grow during these years and slowly consolidate this company as one of the largest players in the Coho business. Thank to them Salmones Aysén has become what it is today, we like to see how our people develop their careers within the company and grow as professionals helping our company to grow as well. 40 people are with us for more than 10 year. OUR COMMUNITY Salmones Aysén have highlighted the importance of being a good neighbor. In order to achieve this, we try to build good relationship with the communities where we are located with a transparent and constant dialogue that helps us to generate positive impact in our environment. In this job we intend to identify their needs and negative impacts that we may cause, in order to avoid this and generate opportunities. The opportunities that we try to generate are always together with the local community and sometimes with the government institutions that should address the matter that arises. This principle is very important to us, because we don’t want to solve every problem that the community has by ourselves, we want to be part of the solution and help the community (that we are part of) to solve their problems. TESTIMONIALS Salmon industry is very questioned today, notwithstanding we stand by it, because we think we have an incredible industry with too many great things to share. One of the main things that are worthy of sharing, are the histories of the people that are a part of this industry, different stories that share hard work and personal growth. This industry was forged in a few years by excellent people, making many mistakes in between, but now we can say we have a modern industry, great knowhow and lots of opportunities! JESSICA MERIÑO: PEOPLE WELFARE MANAGER Salmones Aysén has been the company where I’ve grown. I started since the beginning in charge of human recourses, afterwards I started in charge of benefits for the collaborators. I've learned a lot and improve my working skills within this company. This work has brought stability to my family, it has been the driver for my long term and short term projects. My greatest achievement is to help all the people that work in the company with their needs: people are the base of the company, so we have to take care of them and give them security and stability.” PABLO CAJTAK: DIRECTOR “After working for 19 years in a turkey producer company, and already 10 years in Salmones Aysén, I can tell with absolute certainty, that this company has a great culture. Culture of doing things the right way, in a neat and responsible way, also a culture of giving the opportunities to the people that want to work with effort and dedication. The clear long-term vision that Pablo Baraona has and communicates gives him a leadership that pass through the team, so they can put their best effort to achieve the ambitious goals that he proposes. We work with a team working culture, where we feel we belong to the team. SEBASTIÁN TORRES: SEA WATER DEPUTY OFFICER “I've developed my entire career in Salmones Aysén. I entered in 2009 in basic operations. I am grateful to the company and the people who make the company what it is. I think this have increased my commitment to this Project in the past and for the future. My family is very proud of me, and they feel very grateful that I can develop myself in an occupation that I know since I was a kid. Most of my family have worked in this industry since the 90’s. It has also given me the ability to give my children a good education, so they can develop their skills since they are kids. I have achieved professional growth, also implemented different successful changes in productive process. And of course, conformed different work teams that have had good results. I have earned trust in various areas for the company, also I'm more confident of my self and I’ve learned to be humble and resilient.” LUIS GONZALEZ HERNANDEZ: PROCESSING PLANT CLEANING MANAGER “I began my career in Salmones Aysén, as inspector in the outside of the processing plant. I have been growing since then feeling more confident with my job. This year I’ve asked for more responsibilities and now I'm in charge of the whole cleaning team. My family is very proud that I've achieved in a small amount of time such an important job, and that the company have trust on my skills. My professional growth, the money, good relationship with my boss. I think I have earned the trust of my bosses throughout the different jobs I've had in the company, made good relationship with my colleagues and I have develop my soft skills with the people I have in charge.” JESSICA MERIÑO: PEOPLE WELFARE MANAGER Salmones Aysén has been the company where I’ve grown. Fresh salmon from overseas sometimes is reprocessed more than 48 hours after leaving the plant, and arrives more than 72 hours after leaving the plant to the supermarket, increasing exposure to biological risks and deteriorating its quality. SUSTAINABLE CHOICE AysénCoho is grown in half the time compared with other salmon species, resulting in much less environmental impact. Moreover, it is transported by sea, with a carbon footprint 20 times less lower than the one of fresh salmon transported by plane. AysénCoho has a feed conversion rate of 1.08, this means that, for producing 1kg of Coho, 1.08 kg of feed are needed. This is why it is the most efficient protein in the world. CERTIFICATIONS Our commitment with the environment and our communities, together with the highest-standard farming protocols, are validated troughout different certifications Aquaculture Stewardship Council (ASC) Best Aquaculture Practices (BAP) Ewos Best Site Award (Cargill): Feeding companies have awarded AysénCoho during the last 8 years for its outstanding performance in feed conversion rates. SASHIMI QUALITY Sashimi Quality: The ability to eat it raw. It comes from “sashimi grade” Japanese concept which is based on how safe is the harvest and process of the fish. Our Coho is filleted in an isolated room, that maintain a certain temperature and is frozen within 8 hours from harvest, ensuring the safeness of the process. CHEMICAL AND ANTIBIOTIC FREE AysénCoho is immune to sea lice and ISA virus, due to the strength and tightness of its scales, so chemical treatments are not requierd. AysénCoho is a robust fish grown in its natural habitat (Pacific Ocean), permitting us to have a farming process that most of the time doesn’t require antibiotic treatments. HEALTHY CHOICE AysénCoho is an excellent source of Omega-3. One serving of 5 oz of AysénCoho provides 3.24 grams of omega-3 fatty acids and 1.4 grams of EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids. Supportive research shows that EPA-DHA may contribute to the maintenance of normal vision and brain-function and may prevent coronary heart disease. American Heart Association recommends to eat at least 8 ounces of non-fried fish each week, which may be divided over two 3.5- to 4-ounce servings to get essential omega-3 fatty acids. GREAT FLAVOR AND COLOR AysénCoho is similar to wild sockeye with an intense and unique red color. This is due to the absorption of color that Coho naturally has, which is higher than Atlantic salmon and other salmon species. AysénCoho has a milder flavor and is less fishy compared to other salmon species.
