SINGAPORE — One person was killed and at least 30 others were injured when
Singapore Airlines Flight 321 encountered “severe turbulence” en route from
London to Singapore, the company said Tuesday evening local time.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777-300ER, was carrying 211 passengers and 18 crew
members. It left London’s Heathrow airport slightly after 10:30 p.m. on Monday.
It was cruising at 37,000 feet as it passed the western coast of Myanmar when it
suddenly dropped to 31,000 feet in minutes, according to flight data captured by
Flightradar24.
