ADOBE SOURCE CODE LEAK IS BAD NEWS FOR U.S. GOVERNMENT

The leak of Adobe Systems Inc. source code could become a major security issue
for the U.S. government. Adobe software is widely used in websites for at least
11 government agencies. Last week, the company said that source code for Adobe
Acrobat, ColdFusion and ColdFusion Builder was illegally accessed by an
unauthorized third party. 

Security experts say that having access to proprietary source code can make it
easier for attackers to find and exploit vulnerabilities in the software. For
example, one fear is that attackers could exploit the code for ColdFusion, a Web
application development platform, to find ways to directly access databases
linked to public-facing websites.
