Everything seems to be running alright with one exception. Yesterday evening on the highway, I look down at my speedometer and noticed it was reading at, around 80mph; I felt as if I'm actually going 60-65mph. Today, I'm driving down my street, 1st gear/ around 2-2,500k rpm and I reach 20-30mph real fast, while I'm actually only going about 10-15mph. Can anyone help me with this problem, what do I need to do? Re-calibrate it? Go to dealership? PROBLEM SOLVED, THANKS GUYS! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by nick9g4b1; Jan 14, 2012 at 07:15 AM. Did you change the tires with different size? That can explain your issue. Right now, I have my stock wheels on but during the summer, I use different wheels. Even when I use those wheels, there's no problem. So, I have no idea what went wrong? Can a tune fix this? What tuner should I go with? My buddy who gets his done is $300 for the first time and anything after that is free. What are some good specs I should set my car at ect? LMK. Thanks! All I have on the car now is... ...oem wheels, rrm aluminum crank pulley, injen cai, injen full exhaust, tein springs, twm short shifter. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last edited by nick9g4b1; Jan 9, 2012 at 08:19 AM. At the present stage we now have all the parts needed to fit it, we have the engine itself and the car is booked in in June to have the swap performed. Why is this in the Lancer Ralliart forums? 1). My car is Lancer Sport (Ralliart) from the UK - its just it came with a 1.6 engine and all the other ralliart goodies. The newer ones come with a 2.0 DOHC 4G63. 2). By the end of this project my car will be a Lancer Ralliart with a 4G69 engine in! I am going to update you over the next month or two with photos showing the progress. To begin with today, here are the photos of our 4G69, 2005 with 6000 miles on it in perfect condition. Mounts and MAF Sensor, intake tubing etc... Wiring Harness & Battery Harness and Throttle By Wire Sensor Im waiting on delivery of the ancilliary units of the engine; power steering, AC compressor, water pump and alternator, and the right hand drive axle. So you're aiming at like an USDM ralliart i guess? What I am going to do in the mean time is add the RRM pulley to the engine, and get an RRM ported intake manifold and send them mine. I'll probably get the RRM downpipe as well, if they hurry up with the header ill get that also! That engine cost me £1395 which must be about $2000. All the other bits must have totalled about $1000 from the USA by now! Reply Like Diavlo View Public Profile Visit Diavlo's homepage! We, in the states, don't know how the G18 responds to boost (could be worse than the G94) so I think he's moving in the right direction. What about transmission orientation and the starter motor? I'll get a pic if ya want. Transmission orientation is exactly the same. The 4G18 from what i can tell from the shop manuals is very very similar to the 4G94 except for the intake manifold. Anyhow, no need to debate my choice, its already been made! Reply Like Diavlo View Public Profile Visit Diavlo's homepage! I only brought up the G94 beause everyone says "why not boost" instead of trying a swap. but some engines don't handle boost that well. The G94 needs a lot of internal work to make real power- the G18 could be even more fragile and boosting could be more expensive than a swap..... That said, how does the G18 tranny compare to the G69? Reply Like Alchemist View Public Profile Visit Alchemist's homepage! The transmission, and housing is exactly the same otherwise. I personally feel that this engine will be better than boosting, and leaves the door open for boosting the 2.4 in the future for more power still. The main reason I'm doing this is because I love a good project! There is no 2.4 lancer here, so I'm getting somat unique! Reply Like Diavlo View Public Profile Visit Diavlo's homepage! I hope you don't have any major fabrication ahead of you, but it sounds more-or-less straightforward. Best of luck!!! Reply Like Alchemist View Public Profile Visit Alchemist's homepage! The all mount in the same orientation, and the bolt holes in my transmission housing line up with those on the 2.4 engine, so hopefully it will bolt up. I have a 2005 Lancer cs3a with a 4g18 engine and a Manual f5m411 gearbox. Where I live in Thailand it is cheap and easy to get a 4g69 2.4 litre MIVEC engine as fitted to the Mitsubishi Spacewagon. The 4g69's I could get would all originally have been fitted to an Automatic gearbox, but I prefer to drive a manual. I would like to know if it is possible to mate a 4g69 to the bell housing and gearbox of my Lancer without any serious fabricating. Many thanks Reply Like jay1980 View Public Profile Find More Posts by jay1980 View iTrader Profile Mar 14, 2024, 08:17 PM #28 ahad Newbie Join Date: Mar 2024 Location: Mauritius Posts: 1 Likes: 0 Received 0 Likes on 0 Posts Hello, does the 4g69 clutch kit compatible with 4g18 gearbox ?
