Medical Expectations Lab We examine the role of expectation in symptom relief.




ABOUT OUR LAB

Expectations shape the way we think and feel. Our lab is devoted to the study of
expectations, such as placebo effects, in the domain of health.  The more we
understand this phenomenon the more it can be leveraged to improve patient
well-being. The lab is directed by Dr. Michael Bernstein, an experimental
psychologist and Assistant Professor in the Department of Diagnostic Imaging at
The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University.
