By paying an annual subscription and becoming a supporter you will receive:

 * free medical emergency attendance if required
 * free emergency ambulance transport to the nearest hospital or emergency
   medical clinic if required
 * free attendance in a medical emergency and transport to the nearest hospital
   or emergency medical clinic, if required, for accident related injuries more
   than 24 hours old (ACC may cover those less than 24 hours old).

Our online course will teach you to support your own mental health and how to
assist others.

 * Almost half of the people in Aotearoa, New Zealand will experience mental
   distress or illness in their lifetime, so chances are someone you know or
   care about may need help
 * Ideal training for anyone, including managers, responsible for their staff,
   those interacting with the public, or simply anyone who wants to improve
   their knowledge around mental health
 * This course will help you build your own mental fitness as well as being able
   to assist others
 * We also offer an in-class Mental Health First Aid course and, with our
   partner Site Safe, a construction-focused Mental Health First Aid course

This online version of our Mental Health First Aid course will teach you the
skills and knowledge to recognise and respond to someone experiencing mental
health concerns.

In this 4-5 hour online course our in-depth modules and activities follow the
same content as the in-class course and will give you:

the tools to build your own mental fitness the skills to recognise mental
distress the confidence to provide initial help and guide a person towards
professional help a Mental Health First Aid certificate


First aid courses are non-refundable. Please refer to our training terms &
conditions.

Course Content

This online version of the Mental Health First Aid course follows the same
format as the in-class version.

Recognise and provide mental health first aid including how to:

Understand the relationship between mental health and distress Understand ways
to manage your own mental health Know and use the Listen to your HEAD Action
Plan in a non-crisis situation Identify when a person may be experiencing a
mental health crisis Use the 'Listen to your HEAD' Action Plan in a crisis
situation Identify agencies who can help and /or know how to get immediate
assistance if necessary Understand the importance of self-care.
Prerequisites & requirements

We invite anyone 18 years or older to attend our Mental Health First Aid course.
Attendees do not need any prior training or experience.

Please note: This course is not a therapy or support group, nor does it teach
people how to be therapists
