internship there. One of the core values at Gusto is to "embody a service
mindset", and I think Jordan is an exemplar of this. Every time I came to him
with a question, I left with the answer and then some. Jordan would break a
problem down into basic concepts, explain each concept, then demonstrate how
they factored into a solution. In doing this, he empowered me to solve problems
on my own. Sitting next to Jordan for one summer taught me more about
engineering, quality design, and problem solving than all of my previous
experience combined. Jordan is a passionate, kind, and intelligent person who
makes the people around him better, and I feel lucky to have had the opportunity
to work with him.

time at Gusto, where we spearheaded the architectural decision to make
Typescript the default frontend language at Gusto. Jordan was instrumental to
this process, creating an eslint rule to flag any new usage of Javascript, and
having warning messages for existing JavaScript files. Jordan also showed an
ability to act as a multiplier, providing a workshop to other engineers in the

products product team. Jordan is high performing, proactive, and a team-player.
There were multiple instances of Jordan going above and beyond while completing
his work extremely quickly and with high accuracy. For example, I reviewed a few
fast follow items for a project with Jordan and told him there was no rush to
get them built. Within the next day he had an iteration of the product built
which he spent the time to do in-between meetings and his other work. In weekly
planning sessions when the team gives kudos, Jordan's name was consistently
brought up for similar examples. Additionally, Jordan has great product and
design sense. In multiple product and design reviews that I've been in with
Jordan, he has been able to quickly pick up the core of what we are trying to
