In August 2020, the people of Belarus rebelled against the dictator Alexander
Lukashenko. Millions of people rejected him in the Presidential election. During
his 29 years in power, Lukashenko has turned Belarus into a full-fledged
concentration camp and has run his family as a corporation. The people of
Belarus fight against this tyrant on a daily basis. Lukashenko dragged Belarus
into the war with Ukraine which is totally against Belarus people's will. His
regime has become a threat to regional security, provoking a migration crisis in
Europe. Due to sanctions the country's economy is deteriorating, hundreds of
thousands of civilians are leaving the country due lawlessness, fear for family,
and loved one’s security and lives.

In a year, Belarus will hold new parliamentary elections, which will not be fair
and honest. Therefore, it needs to change the approach in fighting the
dictatorial regime. The democratic forces of Belarus are working on a strategy
to overcome the political crisis in Belarus. A large group of Belarusian and
international experts has developed a project of electronic voting, which will
give hope to people of Belarus both inside and outside the country, who wish to
express their support for democratic change. It is time to create a legitimate
body in the eyes of Belarus' people. The regime can compromise any individual
but cannot do it in relation to a legal entity. It is time to return to the same
principles, which helps to invigorate social activity of Belarus' people in
2020.

Belarus' sovereignty is under threat and requires the support of the
international community to protect it. Scenarios of the political situation in
Belarus and the necessary conditions for change will be presented. Belarus has
given the world many outstanding figures who have made tremendous contributions
to world science, culture, and politics. Irving Berlin, a native of Belarus, is
one of America’s most brilliant composers, author of the unofficial US anthem
"God Bless America." We are sure that the situation in Belarus will change in
the near future.



Valery Tsepkalo was formerly Belarus' First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
and the Minsk's Ambassador to Washington, DC. In 1993, he was an adviser to the
first leader of Belarus, Stanislav Shushkevich, and prepared the only visit of
U.S. President to Belarus. Founder and CEO of Belarus Hi Tech Park. In 2020,
despite the brutal authoritarianism in Belarus, Tsepkalo collected over 220,000
signatures to compete against Belarussian dictator Aleksandr Lukashenko in the
Belarussian Presidential elections but was disqualified by the regime. Valery
Tsepkalo was the architect of the famous women's trio led by Svetlana
Tikhanovskaya as a protest candidate in the 2020 elections. He is the
highest-ranking Belarusian official who has ever participated in presidential
elections. Mr. Tsepkalo has shown his commitment to promoting the institution of
democracy as well as free and fair elections within Belarus.
