 * The new Sport Pilot rule makes flying affordable!
   On September 1, 2004 the FAA inaugurated a new pilot certificate dubbed the
   "sport pilot" that makes learning to fly easier and more affordable that
   ever. Intended primarily for recreational use, you can now become a pilot
   with as little as 20 hours of flight instruction! In addition, the FAA also
   created a new category of affordable "light-sport aircraft"!

 * Light Sport Aircraft
   Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA
   certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built
   ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider
   buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

 * Training
   Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport
   aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To
   locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport
   aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above.
   This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools,
   costs and anything else related to training.

 * Experimenter's Corner
   Are you building/buying/flying an Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) or
   Experimental Light Sport (E-LSA) aircraft? Converting an S-LSA to E-LSA?
   Changing or adding equipment, or otherwise modifying an S-LSA? Need help with
   Letters of Authorization? Or maybe designing your own aircraft? This forum is
   the place to discuss All Things Experimental.
