WHAT OUR MEMBERS SAY

Community Active in Development Association (CADA) has just joined ANSAF’s
membership database. For the short period of our membership, we are truly
impressed by what ANSAF does and feel responsible to join hands with ANSAF in
promoting and raising the voice of smallholder producers, including
pastoralists, from the grassroots through national levels. CADA urges ANSAF and
fellow members to keep up the good work. We are grateful of our membership with
ANSAF and look forward to strengthening its efforts in the coming months and
years.
Community Active in Development Association (CADA)

When ADLG joined ANSAF we were concentrated on working at the grassroots level
to create a space for farmers in the Lake Zone to have a larger voice to speak
of their challenges and concerns and to be comfortable in doing so.
We recognized ANSAF’s work at the national level in advocating for policy change
and they valued our expertise with smallholder producers in the Lake Zone.
We became a member to leverage this strength of ANSAF and to elevate the voice
of smallholder producers from grassroots to the national level.
Jimmy LuhendeExecutive Director - ADLG

AMSHA joined ANSAF in 2014. AMSHA has been participating in various ANSAF
activities such as “do agric-campaign” , Annual Learning Events, Agriculture
Annual Policy conferences (AAP), capacity buildings programs and various
advocacy and lobbying meetings. ANSAF has strengthened our M&E capacity,
financial management system, knowledge of women’s inclusion and provided
significant support to our youth in agribusiness projects. We admire ANSAF for
their focus on smallholders and particularly youth and women and we would
encourage any actor with an interest in agriculture to join ANSAF.
Omary Mwaimu Executive Director - AMSHA

Kaengesa Environmental Conservation Society (KAESO) is an NGO based in Rukwa
region that has been at the forefront of environmental conservation and
community development since 1992. Our membership with ANSAF has been benefitting
us in numerous ways, including strengthening our advocacy systems especially in
the agricultural sector and improving our networking with different agricultural
actors such as the government, international organizations, CSOs, other NGOs as
well as farmer groups, fisher folk groups and livestock keepers through JUWAVITA
that is hosted by ANSAF. ANSAF has also been fundamental in developing our
capacity to coordinate local agricultural dialogues and advocacy at district and
regional levels.
Kaengesa Environmental Conservation Society (KAESO)

We, as BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania, acknowledge that ANSAF through various
agricultural platforms has enabled its members to use their collective strength
and experience to build each other’s knowledge, skills and relationships across
NGOs, CSOs and ANSAF’s partner organizations. This has been instrumental in our
development and implementation of community development work, coalition building
as well as legal and policy work. At the same time, ANSAF’s work has contributed
to provision of an overall structure to members through their facilitation with
policy studies, analysis of information gathered through different dialogues
including the range of farm communities to policy makers and ensure effective
flow of information, experiential learning through workshops and exchanges,
training support for community initiatives as well as developing collective
advocacy issues from members and advocacy strategies such as through Annual
Learning Events. ANSAF has strongly supported organizations and farm communities
to raise their voices on agricultural development in Tanzania, conservation of
the environment and related policies as well as sharing of information to find
local, Tanzanian-led solutions to the challenges they face. BRAC Maendeleo
Tanzania and other members of ANSAF have been benefitting very much from ANSAF’s
interventions in our furtherance of socio-economic empowerment of the
communities we work with.
BRAC Maendeleo Tanzania

Tanzania Association of Women Leaders in Agriculture and Environment (TAWLAE) is
an active member of ANSAF. TAWLAE has been supported by ANSAF in various areas
of our work for a number of years. ANSAF supported TAWLAE to run a scientific
conference on Innovative Agriculture for Food Security in Tanzania. Papers were
presented, discussed and deliberations made. ANSAF invited TAWLAE to participate
in the Sustainable Agricultural Intensification Research and Learning in Africa
(SAIRLA) project where TAWLAE had an opportunity to share on improving the
strategic plan and the work of SAIRLANLA Tanzania.
Tanzania Association of Women Leaders in Agriculture and Environment (TAWLAE)

TAWLAE also benefits from engagements in stakeholder meetings, Annual General
Meetings (AGM) and Sustainable Agriculture Intensification (SAI) which
contributes to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and which aims at ending
hunger, achieving food security, improving nutrition and promoting sustainable
agriculture. TAWLAE is part and parcel of the strategic plan that ANSAF guides
to sustain members. TAWLAE being supported by ANSAF proves true the saying
Together We Stand!
Tanzania Association of Women Leaders in Agriculture and Environment (TAWLAE)

A sustainable income for farmers and nutritious, affordable food for everyone:
this is what Rikolto works for. We reach our goals by building bridges between
smallholder farmer organisations, companies, authorities and other actors across
rural and urban areas. As a member of ANSAF, Rikolto has had the opportunity to
meet and connect with other organizations that are working in the same food
systems in Tanzania during the annual agricultural policy forum and several
learning events. Collaborating and aligning our work across different
organisations is key to achieve sustainable food systems in the future.
Rikolto

We have been sharing our experience about inclusive business, youth inclusion
and climate smart agriculture with other stakeholders during ANSAF events.
Through constructive discussions and the sharing of best practices by other
organisations, we have been able to learn and improve our work with smallholder
farmers, youths and women. ANSAF has created an environment for learning,
networking and sharing best practices to improve the work we do at Rikolto.
