OSCAR ISAAC ADDRESSES THE POTENTIAL OF A MOON KNIGHT/MARVEL KNIGHTS STORY

Oscar Isaac discusses the potential of a Moon Knight team-up with the darker
superheroes associated with the Marvel Knights imprint.

Moon Knight star Oscar Isaac recently expressed his support for a potential
crossover between his character and the darker superheroes associated with
Marvel Knights and the Midnight Sons in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

In an interview with ET Canada, Isaac stated, "Obviously I get asked like, how
could I see him in the future and Midnight Sons is definitely a place, Marvel
Knights is definitely a place," he said. "But, it would really be about if the
story felt necessary, you know?"

Marvel launched the Marvel Knights imprint in 1998, with the line boasting more
mature, largely standalone series that were nevertheless still part of wider
Marvel continuity. It is noted for bringing in creators from outside comics and
for encouraging a more experimental approach to established characters like
Black Panther, Punisher, Daredevil and The Inhumans. As well as serving as the
imprint's name, Marvel Knights is also the title of a short-lived series about
an unnamed team of street-level vigilantes led by Daredevil, which included Moon
Knight among its ranks.

More recently, Marvel Studios used the Marvel Knights brand for its more
adult-oriented, less-mainstream projects set outside the MCU. The studio
ultimately discontinued this practice, with only two films released under the
Marvel Knights umbrella: 2008's Punisher: War Zone and 2011's Ghost Rider:
Spirit of Vengeance. Marvel Television also reportedly referred to its Netflix
shows -- including Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Iron Fist -- by the
Marvel Knights name, although these interconnected series are now known as "The
Defenders Saga."

Aside from the Marvel Knights, Isaac's comments referenced Moon Knight joining
forces with The Midnight Sons. The actor has previously lobbied for Marc Spector
to become a member of this edgier outfit over the MCU's flagship superhero team,
The Avengers. "The truth, for me, more than the Avengers, is the Midnight Sons.
Imagine, with Punisher, Ghost Rider, Daredevil… I think that would be a very
interesting group," Isaac said, in a recent interview.

Isaac has also confirmed he's willing to entertain crossovers with more
prominent MCU superheroes, provided the dynamic between them worked. The star
recently pointed to the Incredible Hulk as a character he could see Moon Knight
clicking with. "I mean he’s a bit of a loner, so that's the thing," said Isaac.
"I don’t know maybe… Who would he get along with in the MCU out of everyone?
Maybe Hulk! Yea, I could see it happen."



Moon Knight premieres on Disney+ on March 30.
