They also played in a recent non-district game. Eden Lewis (5) sets a pass during the Lady Panthers' game against Miller Grove Tuesday. Lewis recorded 17 assists, nine digs, three aces and one kill in the Lady Panthers' three-set victory, coming one dig short of a double-double. In that span, the Lady Panthers performed well, earning multiple wins. The Miller Grove Lady Hornets prepare to break the huddle during their game against North Hopkins Tuesday. The Lady Hornets suffered a three-set loss in that game, with set scores being 8-25, 16-25 and 17-25. Both teams ran hard and tough, gaining experience for the season. Deuce Hall (8) races up the field on a kickoff return during the Wildcats' game against Mesquite Poteet Friday, Aug. 30. Hall recorded 126 kick return yards, highlighted by a 96-yard kick return touchdown in the Wildcats' 68-17 victory. He also rushed for 110 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground. All game long, the Wildcats outplayed the Pirates at every opportunity, leading to a blowout victory. Como-Pickton's Bianca Guerrero (left) and Cade Childress both medaled at the Tim Menke Invitational last Saturday. Guerrero placed second in the varsity girls race with a time of 14:10, while Childress placed sixth in the varsity boys race with a time of 18:18. Each team had multiple strong performers, leading to positive results.
