N U T R I T I O N 

Our nutrition is nationally recognised and very highly regarded by the Soil
Association, with whom we have achieved a Gold Award every year since 2011. 95%+
of our ingredients are organic and /or sourced locally and our chef prepares
each meal from scratch daily on site. 


The very highest quality nutrition for your child gives them the best start in
developing healthy eating habits for life and is crucial to a child’s physical
and mental development.

We have a daily music and singing focus, as well as art and craft activities and
we value ‘The process not the end result’ by providing creative activities that
focus on rich hands on engagement not the finished product.



In addition- our very strong outdoor focus further enhances the children’s
creative opportunities and we regularly play gentle, calming and classical music
in each room.

Montessori children learn naturally at their own pace, through hands on learning
experiences. They enter school with excellent early learning skills and local
school teachers feed this back to us on a regular basis. They often tell us that
they can recognise a ‘Tall Trees’ child in their classroom.


Montessori education at Tall Trees is drawn primarily through the preschool, but
the whole nursery benefits from the calm, child led interactive experiences that
we offer. 


At the heart of the Montessori ethos are the words ‘Follow the child’. Children
are naturally motivated to learn and become independent. We create an
environment that allows the children to choose their own activities, and learn
through interesting and purposeful hands on engagement.


Recent research shows that Montessori educated children are more mature,
creative and socially skilled.

The word ‘Heuristic’ means to find out or discover.




We live in a world where plastic toys dominate but they can be dull and
disappointing for young children. Whilst each toy may look different, the smell,
taste and feel is the same.




Heuristic play with babies and toddlers stimulates all the senses. Providing
open- ended discovery and creating rich learning experiences.




At Tall Trees we provide a myriad of heuristic play opportunities daily.

We want to set a good example for the children and strive to look at ways to
keep things as natural and eco conscious in the Tall Trees environment on a day
to day basis. These are some of what we do;

Compostable vegetable materials are used instead of single use plastic bags and
yoghurt pots in our kitchen.

The nursery is sanitised nightly (by a local cleaning company) primarily using
steam cleaning methods.

All our food ingredients are sourced from ethical, local and organic suppliers

Our nappies and pull ups are UK made, with no chemical gels and are
biodegradable

We make our own organic lavender baby wipes
 * Button


Our laundry is washed using only eco laundry products
 * Button


Most of our cleaning products are natural, such as Ecover/Bio D / Faith in
Nature

We only use completely natural air fresheners with essential oils- no nasty
chemical sprays.

We recycle as much of our waste as possible.
