SINCE 1985

The AIDV was founded in 1985  by a group of lawyers who were involved in the
International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV) including its then-current
Director General, with the view of establishing an independent organisation that
could provide legal advice to the OIV. Over the following years, the AIDV
evolved into an international organisation which has the goals of “providing a
forum for studies and debates on legal questions affecting the wine community
and wine trade throughout the world.


WINE AND VINE

Now, in the 21st century, more than 104 million hectoliters of wines, of the 275
million produced in the world*, cross national borders before being consumed,
which represents a world sales turnover of more than 28 billion euros.

OBSERVER STATUS

The AIDV benefits from Observer status at the International Organisation of Vine
and Wine (OIV) in Paris, and participates in the work of the “Law and Consumer
Information” group of experts. The AIDV is also an observer at the World
Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO).

JUS VINI

Journal of Wine & Spirits Law

AIDV has decided to support the publication of JUS VINI, the Journal of Wine and
Spirits Law. Jus Vini, the Journal of Wine & Spirits Law, is a bilingual
(English/French) peer-reviewed legal journal published twice a year (June and
December), promoting legal scholarship in the field of wine and spirits law. Jus

VINE, WINE AND LAW: FROM LOCAL TO GLOBAL

Liber amicorum - Robert Tinlot

Lawyer, senior official of the Directorate for the consumption and prevention of
fraud, member of the INAO, Director General of the OIV, founding member of the
International Association of Wine Law(AIDV), frequent traveler and fine diplomat
, Robert Tinlot (1931-2017) had a career in the world of wine which is
impossible to summarize in a few lines.
