Especially for those on a budget holiday, but its also known for Boutique Luxury. In this case, my idyllic luxury escape was 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai, a resort where history blends beautifully with elegance. The hotel is situated in the Wat Gate neighborhood, just a short distance from the Ping River and the bustling center of Chiang Mai. Step through the entrance and step back in time. The name "137 Pillars House" is derived from its original structure, which was built in the late 1800s as part of the British Borneo Company's headquarters, a base for some of first foreigners in Chiang Mai who were here during the 1800’s to source teak wood for shipbuilding. The house was constructed on stilts, with 137 teak wood pillars supporting the main building. Today, the hotel preserves the colonial charm of the original structure, including many of the original teak furnishings while offering modern amenities and luxurious accommodation. Your VIP stay will be in a stunning suite with names that conjure up the regions history such as:- The Raja Brooke Suite The East Borneo Suite The Louis Leon-Owens Pool Suite Elephants feature everywhere here. The resort partners with Chiang Mai’s Elephant Nature Park, which is must see for visitors… Overall, 137 Pillars House is a tranquil retreat in the heart of Chiang Mai, combining historic elegance with contemporary luxury to provide guests with a memorable and immersive experience in Northern Thailand. #chiangmai #chiangmairesort #luxuryescapes #137pillarshouse #chiangmaitravel #norththailand Mae Sariang | Popular ride stop-over in North-East Thailand Mae Sariang is an original, laid-back, integral stop-over town for riders on the on the Mae Hong Son Loop. A typical circuit from Chiang Mai would include overnights in Mae Sariang, Mae Hong Son and Pai. Three nights and four days in some of the most stunning scenery in Thailand, and one of its most iconic rides on a motorcycle. There are many resorts to choose from! My favorites are on the banks of the picturesque Yuam River. #motorcycle #livingfortheride #thailand #maesariang #maehongsonloop #shorts Motorcycle Drag Racing in Thailand | Nakhon Nayok Australian Motorcycle Commentator 'Dale Schmidtchen' drives 2 hours from Pattaya to Nakhon Nayok to experience a fun day of scooter motorcycle drag racing at its Rassamee Drag Track. Scooter motorcycling drag racing is very unique to Thailand. It's popularity is driven by the country's vibrant small-bike culture and the enthusiasm of riders. These events thankfully provide a platform for riders to showcase their skills and the performance of their modified bikes. It also helps to alleviate illegal night racing on public roads! Participants often heavily modify their scooters and motorcycles to enhance performance. Modifications can include changes to the engine, exhaust system, suspension, and other components to optimize the bike for drag racing. Many look like jewels! Dale appreciates the more relaxed, respectable and simple approach to motor sports in Thailand, the way it used to be in Australia and the West in the good old days. #thailand #motorcycle #motorcycledragracing #dragracing #livingfortheride Mae Hong Son | Favorite Motorcycle Ride in Thailand If somebody were to ask me what is my favorite place in Northern Thailand, I would have to say Mae Hong Son. Its loop entails 1,864 curves! Instead of just being a fantastic ride it's also an amazing destination. It's got a some sense of spirituality which I can't fathom. Regional expat motorcycle riders even have their own Chedi. Situated in the top north-east corner of Thailand, near Myanmar, Mae Hong Son is a mountainous hideaway escape 300 kilometers from Chiang Mai. There are motorcycle teams traveling through Mae Hong Son on every single day! It's incredibly popular, and one of the top in Thailand. #maehongson #livingfortheride #motorcycle #motovlog #motorcycleadventure #shorts Sukhumvit's latest Shopping Mall 'EmSphere' Opens Thai retailer, The Mall Group, recently opened its latest shopping center branded as 'Emsphere' in a bid to create yet another new destination for tourists and shoppers in Bangkok.
