Nagesh Goel, President and Co-Founder of AEIS, made the announcement. “Ultrasonic testing is one of the most powerful tools in the NDT toolbox, used on some of today’s most important infrastructure projects to identify flaws before they become problems,” stated Mr. Goel. “We are proud to host the first-ever Goel Ultrasonic Testing Challenge this year, providing inspection professionals from all over the nation the opportunity to complete a series of UT challenges, competing for the grand-prize of $5,000.” Inspection and ultrasonic testing professionals are invited to participate in the Goel UT Challenge, and may sign up at https://www.aeis.com/GOELUT/. The participants must be UT Level II (SNT-TC-1A/ ISO 9712), with at least two years of structural UT experience. There will be two rounds to the challenge. Round one will host up to 56 participants, and shall take place on Friday, December 3rd. After round one, six skilled candidates shall advance to round two, which shall be held on Saturday, December 4th. A technician who has experience in structural ultrasonic testing can navigate these challenges through skill and utilizing special procedures. Utilizing NDT inspection of infrastructure projects, including ultrasonic testing and advanced ultrasonic testing techniques such as Phased Array UT, is a cornerstone of AEIS’ work.
