MENTAL & BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROGRAM OF AFH

All For Health, Health For All > Mental & Behavioral Health Program of AFH

GIFT

The Glendale Individual & Family Treatment program (G.I.F.T) is the mental and
behavioral health program of All For Health, Health For All, Inc. and is a
leading resource in the home-like and intimate setting of Glendale Heritage
Garden (informally known as the Cedar House) benefiting youth and families with
mental health care and behavioral needs.

YOUTH IN NEED

The GIFT program helps families in the community where children struggle with a
variety of behavioral, learning and emotional issues, such as:

 * Chemical dependency and other addictions
 * Oppositional defiance
 * Social struggles
 * Aggression
 * Relationship problems
 * Learning disabilities
 * ADHD
 * Trauma
 * Anxiety
 * Depression

OUR SERVICES

A unique municipal resource, the GIFT program brings together many capabilities
to create clinically sophisticated, relationship based treatment programs. We
offer multi-disciplinary diagnostic and treatment services for a variety of
conditions, including, but not limited to:

 * Individual counseling, family, and group psychotherapy, as well as
   educational classes
 * Psychological and educational testing
 * Support groups, social skills, parent training programs and family workshops
 * Crisis management, intervention, and stabilization
 * Juvenile forensic and court related services
 * Consulting services for school districts, educational, and mental health
   organizations
 * Education and training opportunities for mental health professionals working
   in different fields such as medicine, psychology, social work, and related
   disciplines.
 * Clinical research in risk as well as protective factors that affect youth
   development

THERAPEUTIC FUN

Besides traditional therapies, youth at the GIFT program engage in a range of
experiential activities that are clinically effective and proven therapeutic
methods of healing and personal growth.

The hands-on recreational and practical activities teach youth to immerse
themselves in an environment conducive to positive change. We have designed our
programs to be therapeutic and well-rounded.

OUR MISSION AND PHILOSOPHY

The GIFT program was developed by the late Dr. Arthur Pogosyan, a respected
child and adolescent psychiatrist, who unfortunately passed away before the
program was operational.

His wife and colleagues joined together to bring Dr. Pogosyan’s vision to life.
The GIFT program’s ultimate goal, as Dr. Pogosyan envisioned it, is to get the
trust of the youth, to motivate, mentor and inspire them.

At the GIFT program, the belief is that teens in crisis are best served in
personalized interactions with therapists, staff, and fellow youth. The
philosophy at the GIFT is to treat youth and their families with ultimate
respect and guidance. The GIFT program provides the support and care for youth
and their families to overcome weaknesses and fears.

We try to inspire youth to reach their goals and meet their hopes. We strongly
believe in the power of working closely with the families. Critical to our
success is the engagement of the families in the process, which proves to create
a lasting result. We strive to create a vibrant, culturally sensitive, and
premier program in the heart of Glendale.
