public. The Act/Regulation requires that there is a robust health and safety
management system in place to ensure that risks are identified and minimised,

the organisation.

roles, he has gained in depth experience of the specific health and safety
issues associated with a variety of business sectors, including heavy and light
manufacturing operations, warehousing, call centres, field service operations,
construction and property project management.

He is a Technical member of the Institute of Occupational Health and Safety
(IOSH) and holds qualifications from the National Examination Board for
Occupational Health and Safety (NEBOSH). Whatever your business, his experience

to work with you to ensure that you are legally compliant, and that most
importantly, your employees go home safely every day.

communicated. In every area of health and safety communication, consultation and

their colleagues, contractors and members of the public.

INDUSTRY

Every employer has a duty of care not only to its employees but also to others
who come into contact with the business such as contractors and members of the
public. The Act/Regulation requires that there is a robust health and safety
management system in place to ensure that risks are identified and minimised,
and that a competent person is appointed with the necessary skills, knowledge
and experience to manage health and safety, either from within or from outside
the organisation.

INDUSTRY SAFETY

A third of all workplace accidents and fatalities occur in the construction
industry, and falls from height are the most common cause. The very nature of a
building site, with numerous trades working together, often unfamiliar with the
site, and exposure to all weathers, heightens the risk and makes a robust health
and safety management system essential. We can assist you in the following
areas:

 * Risk assessments
 * Method statements
 * Training

PUWER & LOLER

PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 ) cover general
workplaces such as factories, offices, shops, hospitals, construction sites,
farms or wherever work equipment and machinery is used. PUWER places
responsibilities on businesses and organisations whose employees use work
equipment, whether owned by them or not.

LOLER (Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations 1998 requires that all
equipment used for lifting is fit for purpose, appropriate for the task,
suitably marked and, in many cases, subject to statutory periodic ‘thorough
examination’. Records must be kept of all thorough examinations and any defects
found must be reported to both the person responsible for the equipment and the
relevant enforcing authority.

PLANT CERTIFICATION

Liam heads up our plant certification division and he ensures that all your
plant is tested and certified to the highest standard.
He ensures your plant is tested to meet the requirements of the HSA/HSE and your
insurer.

As a legal requirement all plant and lifting equipment must be inspected and
tested every 6 or 12 months

On completion of examination the machine will be GA1 tested.
