A signer may use two credible witnesses personally known to the signer. Each credible witness must have a valid ID. A credible witness can not be named in the document. DOES A DOCUMENT NEED TO BE SIGNED IN THE PRESENCE OF A NOTARY? It depends, Documents requiring acknowledgments normally do not need to be signed in the Notary’s presence. However, the signer must appear before the Notary at the time of notarization to acknowledge that he or she freely signed for the purpose stated in the document. On the other hand, documents requiring a jurat must be signed in the presence of the Notary. She walked me through the whole process. was Increadibly nice, very professional. Turns out she does all kinds of stuff from finger printing, to back ground checks. (not that i’ll be needing that any time soon.. i hope) She is officially my go to girl from now on! i seriously don’t see how you can go wrong with this woman!
